A soldout appearance on Sept. 27 for comic book writing legend Stan Lee has been canceled for a second time, Toledo-Lucas County Public Library staffers confirmed today. The library sold 2,300 tickets for the engagement, which was scheduled as part of the popular Authors! Authors! series cosponsored by the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library and The Blade.
It was unclear today whether the event will be able to be rescheduled, said Meg Delaney, manager of the main library and coordinator of Authors! Authors!, which is in its 19th season.
"The only information we have at this point is that Mr. Lee can't make it Sept. 27," she said.
Library spokesman Susan Gibney said Mr. Lee's agent did not give a specific reason for the cancellation, other than to say it was for "a very serious circumstance."
Mr. Lee's original appearance at Authors! Authors! was to be April 18, but it was changed because of a scheduling conflict.
Mr. Lee, who turns 90 in December, is the former head of Marvel Comics, and helped create Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, and the Incredible Hulk in the early 1960s
Oh nooo, I hope its nothing health related :(
He was such a massive inspiration to me as a child and still is to a lot of people. It's gonna be sad to see his health declining if that's what it is.
Wow, he's 90? I never realized that. I just saw him yesterday in that comic con documentary that Morgan Spurlock did. Stan's such a cool guy, he's so nice.
Gentlemen, prepare your tissues, and get our your favorite Marvel comics. I think we may be seeing a legend pass soon that needs to be honored.
I didn't know he was 90, I hope sincerely hope he is all right :(
I hope that they will still somehow have him as a cameo in future marvel films. Even like, a cardboard cut out in a characters apartment.
Stan Lee is one of those people who stops aging when they hit 70. Hope he's okay.

No matter how funny that would be, you would still get people crying and saying that it's disrespectful.
Oh god I will genuinely be sad when his time comes. His comics were probably the main thing I remember from my childhood. Spiderman on the PS1 with him narrating!

I don't see how masturbating to Marvel comics will honour his legacy but whatever floats your boat.
I doubt it has something to do with his health. I hope.

Nothing honors a great man like blowing your load onto a comic panel of Spider-Man's face
[sp]I'm gonna feel so bad for saying that if he dies[/sp]
if he dies then the Avengers will truly be "Going out with a bang" in his sense.
Hope he lives to at LEAST Avengers 2, even 3 if that's even possible. I love seeing him in his own films.

anything super hero related, if I made it, Id' put something to reference to Stan. Because why not.

Semen floats my boat.
90 years old, serious health issues.
Better stock up on tissues and start working on that shrine.
Oh god please be okay Stan. Please :(

You doubt a 90 year old man could have health complications?
I remember hearing somewhere that all men around age 100 develop prostate cancer. It could be wrong but idk

I think you'll find that maybe that was perhaps referencing that on a long enough timeline EVERYONE develops some form of cancer
Although being prostate cancer specifically makes sense, since testosterone is cruical to prostate health and old men have virtually none of it. Which is funny because doctors used to consider high testosterone a risk factor for prostate cancer, now it's done a 360.

You know that he'd fucking love it if it would happen though.
I saw him at the Melbourne comic on only a few months ago giving a really great talk...He seemed so healthy :(
"Excelsior!"
Oh no, hopefully he just can't make the day because something else falls on it.

I see what you did there.

Nothing health related? When you're 90 years old everything is health related.

Wait- what happened to Christopher?

His age has caught up to him.
Doesn't stop him from being Saruman in The Hobbit though.
his appearance on Amazing Spiderman was pretty great.
If it's his last, then so be it.. but it's a good one to be his final cameo.

Wait I just googled him and apparently he is a cult actor and metal singer. I had no damn idea, I just know him as Saruman and Count Dooku
