Donald Trump rejects intelligence report on travel ban because it doesn't say what he wants it to
Donald Trump reportedly rejected an intelligence report on his “Muslim ban” because it did not corroborate his claim that it improved national security.
Compiled by the Department of Homeland Security, the report said that banning all citizens of seven predominantly Muslim countries was ineffective way of stopping terrorists coming to the US because “country of citizenship is unlikely to be a reliable indicator of potential terrorist activity.”
Mr Trump has vowed to introduce a revised version of his highly controversial ban which was blocked by the courts earlier this month. He has insisted it was a security measure not a religious ban. But the report from his own intelligence staff, seen by The Wall Street Journal, makes this claim harder to justify.
The White House dismissed its findings as politically motivated and poorly researched.
“The intelligence community is combining resources to put together a comprehensive report using all available sources which is driven by data and intelligence and not politics", said Spokesman Michael Short.
“The president asked for an intelligence assessment. This is not the intelligence assessment the president asked for,” an senior administration official added.
I want off
Literally "I reject your reality and substitute it with my own".
Let's hope that the "fake news" outlets decide to properly publicize this, turn more people against the King in Orange.
Trump better get used to being triggered by a plunging approval rating if he only wants to listen to Good News and pretends he can ignore all the Bad News until it goes away.
It's time to resign, Mr. Trump.
:scream:

How is it that republican presidents are always super hated or super divisive? It happened with Reagan and Nixon, and now Trump. It's so weird.

I kinda want to see him dragged out though. A psychotic dangerous manchild like that doesn't deserve to bow out with any shreds of dignity remaining.

Because their party is built around the idea of refuting change and maintaining the status quo circa 1850.
That's the literal point of the GOP. They exist to create an unrestricted business environment, maintain American isolationism and racial purity, and prescribe a set of conservative religious and moral beliefs. They do this through authoritarian political doctrine and action, which gets on the nerves of liberals* and libertarians. There's a reason they're called the Grand Ole Party, the name is not a coincidence.
Obviously, that's not an agreeable position to anyone who doesn't want to live in 1850.
*Liberals here is a word which means, "open to new behavior or opinions and willing to discard traditional values."
As an organization, they need to be dissolved, and prevented from infecting younger minds with their harmful ideologies.
How the hell did this person hold any positions of responsibility to begin with?

I think it explains why their tactics are so fucked up as well. If you fail to adapt eventually your policies are going to become so indefensible that you just have to start outright lying about everything.
How the hell did this person hold any positions of responsibility to begin with?
He didn't?
He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth in the form of his father's estate and connections. I'm 100% sure that there's always been at the very least a group of people who actually managed his money.
(who then sometimes let him do his personal ideas, like Trump Real estate just before the economic crash, or the failed Trump Steaks, or the failed million things he's personally done.)
The article also has a little gem hidden at the bottom:
Gillian M. Christensen, DHS’ acting press secretary, attempted to downplay the controversy saying the dispute with the White House was over quality as it was just a “commentary” based on publicly available sources.
She said: “It is clear on its face that it is an incomplete product that fails to find evidence of terrorism by simply refusing to look at all the available evidence.
“Any suggestion by opponents of the president’s policies that senior intelligence officials would politicise this process or a report’s final conclusions is absurd and not factually accurate. The dispute with this product was over sources and quality, not politics”.
But at the beginning of the article,
The White House dismissed [the DHS report's] findings as politically motivated and poorly researched.
That spin is amazing.

I thought Ronald Reagan was popular?
I thought Ronald Reagan was popular?
Among Republicans.
Among Republicans.
So it's Impossible for Republicans to have non establishment and progressive Candidates? or Democrats won't like any Republican president ?

You show me a Republican president in the last 50 years who isn't trash and I'll be willing to accept that they haven't all been
I want off
As crude and as non-constructive it is, you do realize you can move to another country right?
You show me a Republican president in the last 50 years who isn't trash and I'll be willing to accept that they haven't all been
Ford was alright
I thought Ronald Reagan was popular?
Only if you've never read a history book before maybe.
As crude and as non-constructive it is, you do realize you can move to another country right?
It's not always that easy or even possible for everyone to just up and go to a different country.
As crude and as non-constructive it is, you do realize you can move to another country right?
Yeah, if you don't like the fact that your elected representatives have not the faintest idea of what being an elected representative means, you can literally discard your entire life, family, property, livelihood, and connections and risk your future going somewhere where you have nothing, and face the reality that you might factually just not make it and die.
Oh wait, that's what people from third world dictatorship hellholes do when they seek refuge here.
Holy shit, that's a thought.
How about I just show up at your house one day and start rubbing my own shit on the walls, and when you gripe about the smell, I tell you to move out if you don't like it?
As crude and as non-constructive it is, you do realize you can move to another country right?
You realize Trump's presidency effects the entire planet, right? Not only that, but jesus christ man, do you not realize that moving to another country costs time and money that most people do not have?
America should have more Parties like Norway and Germany does. That would help a lot with the divide you got in the USA.

They do, but the political machine ensures they never get competent candidates and they wash out every year anyway. The bipartisan system exists solely for misdirection and to maintain the status quo.

Christ dude, he won. Get over it. I hate him too. You gotta face the fire.

We don't have more parties because of FPTP. We do have third parties, but they're more political statements than viable options. This video explains it.
