Two men using a cutting torch on a safe containing fireworks sparked an explosion that killed them early Tuesday morning, investigators said. Guess they went out with a bang.
Why were there fireworks in the safe?
Why were there fireworks in the safe?
Because fireworks are dangerous?
Why were there fireworks in the safe?
So thieves can try and get them.
If thieves can't find green in the safe of a landscaping company, they don't want to live in this world anymore, so they're not.
Because fireworks are dangerous?
Ok, more specifically why would a landscaping company's safe have fireworks in them, as opposed to something that the company would benefit from keeping it safe?
Ok, more specifically why would a landscaping company's safe have fireworks in them, as opposed to something that the company would benefit from keeping it safe?
It doesn't matter why they put them in a safe. It's their safe, they can put whatever they want in it.
You have to escape first!
Reminds me of that safety video that ends with an explosion caused by someone cutting open a barrel of fuel with a blowtorch.
Could also be charges for splitting rocks. I know shit like that at least is required by law to be locked up.
I can physically feel the irony.
The safe probably amplified the blast created by the fireworks, as well as providing ample shrapnel. I daresay those two were in one piece when they were found.
Payday 2 ARG.
What a neat trap.
It doesn't matter why they put them in a safe. It's their safe, they can put whatever they want in it.
Yeah but why? Why would fireworks be in it, that's all I want to know. Were they actually fireworks or explosives used for the company, because that makes a lot more sense.
The safe probably amplified the blast created by the fireworks, as well as providing ample shrapnel. I daresay those two were in one piece when they were found.
What would be the chances that those two would be melded into one lump anyway?
This sounds like something you'd read in the Darwin Awards.
Yeah but why? Why would fireworks be in it, that's all I want to know. Were they actually fireworks or explosives used for the company, because that makes a lot more sense.
Probably so that anyone who stole it would go out with a bang.
Well, that blows.
Why were there fireworks in the safe?
Freedom must be protected.
Damn, that's a horrible way to die.
I could think of something far worse.

A local general contractor here in my town also has a pyrotechnics license, he also happens to keep his spare flash powder and materials in a safe in his shop. For a second i thought that this happened here.

Maybe to meet these requirements because they didn't have outdoor space to create storage areas they used a safe to stay within compliance. It's also entirely possible the article fucked up and said it was a safe when it was a heavy duty flammable storage containers (You can get them with locks). It does not really matter, because the people broke in to the place and tried take something that didn't belong to them. Anyone can own a safe and do what they want with it, so it really does not matter as to why fireworks are stored in such a device. Some people like to be safe then sorry and not have to worry about people getting into stuff and hurting themselves.

I also haven't heard of anyone keeping fireworks in a safe, so I'm curious too. Your explanation makes sense.
lol self destruct system wins i would have my safe lined with thermite actually but weapons grade fireworks work well enough
This reminds me of an episode of this shitty knockoff of "Storage Wars" that i saw a while back. These guys found a safe in a storage unit. They ponder about what's in it, one says maybe some documents or something. Then they use a fucking PLASMA CUTTER to open it. Turns out there was an old Czech handgun in it with documentation, and they ruined it. I was cringing so hard when they pulled the gun out and it was smoking from the burning wood on the grip.
A bit of a over the top for a security measure don't you think? Everytime you rob a safe you are playing russian roulette because, Any safe could be packed with explosives.
