A friend and I are trying to play Stronghold Crusader Via LAN. When I type in the local IP address for the host on "computer 2" it shows up in server list, but when i click "join" the game crashes. When I try to host it on "computer 2" it doesnt even show up in the game list on "computer 1" , so I'm thinking its a network problem leaning towards computer number 2. Maybe a setting in the router is causing said conflict?
1st computer(Computer Hosting Game)
Windows XP
Proper Ports forwarded for this computer
as game says to do for host connection.
2nd Computer(one that game is crashing on)
Windows 7
I think LAN is treated a little differently on Windows 7. The best thing to do would be to get the 1st computer on Windows 7. If you really don't want to do that, you could try using Hamachi
I got it to work using gameranger, thanks though
