A campaign to stop homophobic bullying will be introduced in Church of England schools, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, has announced.
The Church was not changing its teaching on gay relationships, he said.
But he told the General Synod: "We must accept that there is a revolution in the area of sexuality."
The archbishop recently opposed the gay marriage Bill in the House of Lords, but said the Church should heed some of the views of the Bill's supporters.
they do this every year and it never works and will never work because the people who try to run these are fundamentally bigots
the higher ups might have good intentions (might) but the people from the individual churches that are actually part of the program generally don't.
The only way the church can prevent homophobia is by changing it's stance on it and making sure followers know of it.

Just because they're ass-backwards bigots doesn't mean that something like this is bad.
If only all the churches in the world were as easily adaptable to the fact that people have a right to do what they want with their lives. The world would be a much better place.
The Church of England may be moderate, but they aren't particularly adaptable. They fought pretty vehemently against gay marriage until they finally realised it was futile.

good point but i didn't say that

I didn't know they tried this before
While I am happy to see there's some kind of organized effort on this, unfortunately, I have little faith that it's gonna work. While some people in high power may be against homophobia, it all comes down to the interpretation and method of the people teaching it. And unfortunately, most of those people are fundamentally bigots. No matter what they're told to pass down the line.
