They keep coming back year after year. Since the 1990s, neo-Nazi demonstrators invade the village of Wunsiedel in south Germany every November to commemorate the National Heroes' Remembrance Day by visiting the grave of Adolf Hitler’s Deputy, Rudolf Hess, which was located in the village until it was dissolved in 2005 when the lease agreement ran out.
The almost 1,000 inhabitants of Wunsiedel have been trying to stop these demonstrations every time, to no avail. They held counter demonstrations and formed action groups dedicated to tolerance, commitment and moral courage.
...
Instead of taking the neo-Nazis seriously, this time they decided to play a prank on them. Under the slogan "Right against right: (“rechts gegen rechts”), Wunsiedel's residents gave the neo-Nazis' march a new purpose.
For each meter the neo-Nazis marched last Saturday throughout the village, local companies donated 10 euro for a project called “Exit”, a NGO that supports neo-Nazis who are ready to leave the milieu.
The neo-Nazis themselves only learned of the villagers' prank while their march was already underway, walking through the village and carrying their flags and wreaths solemnly.
Looks like the war flag of the Holy Roman Empire.
Isn't Nazism, its symbology and practition of it illegal in Germany?

How does one practice nazism?
How does one practice nazism?
Better to say preaching nazism like these guys sort've are i suppose
I suppose you can practition nazism in your spare time by locking a jew in your basement or something
The video is a viral hit here in Germany right now.
Fucking retards, just look at them.
holy shit, I didn't know what to expect from this but it's much better than I hoped for :v:
Oooh that's devilishly clever, I love it. The Mein Mampf (~my munch) bit was a nice touch as well.
That's heilarious. We need to see more pranks done on Neo Nazis.
I'd love to have a political discussion with one of them to be honest. Sometimes someone has valid reasons for his views, far-right is no different.
Why did the Nazis keep on walking?
I'd love to have a political discussion with one of them to be honest. Sometimes someone has valid reasons for his views, far-right is no different.
Except hate for the sole purpose of hate is wrong under any type of logic
I'd love to have a political discussion with one of them to be honest. Sometimes someone has valid reasons for his views, far-right is no different.
there's no real good reason to recognize or justify far-right reviews that pretty much disadvantage everyone besides the people at the top
there's no real good reason to recognize or justify far-right reviews that pretty much disadvantage everyone besides the people at the top
I'm not sure if I can agree with that honestly. Not if I haven't had a discussion with a far right person that would be so unreasonable. It's always good to try and see someone else point of view. I've spoken to some far right people that some time ago I just would have labeled fascists. In the end, a lot of politics is opinion.
How does one practice nazism?
Oh. By collecting posters and offering prayers to the norse gods!

There are lots of reasons people become extremely right wing or hold these kinds of views it's just as ownerred said there are no GOOD ones. I was a bit of a skinhead when I was younger and considered myself a neo nazi and a lot of the people involved with that that I knew were just angry people with shit lives looking for something or someone to blame. Others were bullying victims or social outcasts just looking to belong. So yeah they had their reasons but once you actually think about it those reasons are shite

nazism has no valid reason to exist

theres a considerable difference between being right aligned and literally being a neo nazi

You know not all fascists scream in favor of genocide and murder of other ethnicities, right?
1000m jog for the master race

So youre defending fascism?
You know how many of our countries were fucking invaded by fascists?

Do you know how many countries were invaded by communists and capitalists as well? All of them have blood on their hands.
I'm not really here to say "you should all be fascists it's gr8", but honestly it's somewhat like the red scare in the early cold war. Much like communism, capitalism, anarchism, etc., there's good and bad aspects to the ideologies.
Isn't Nazism, its symbology and practition of it illegal in Germany?
Yes, but the definition of what is illegal is very specific, for obvious reasons.
If you examine the demonstrations carefully (and compare with e.g. Neo-Nazis in the USA), you'll notice that they actually don't have any Nazi insignia whatsoever - strictly speaking.
What they use is either older or newer, and for that reason not forbidden.
Germany doesn't newly censor anything that isn't blatant hate-speech, violating someone's personal rights or a violent video game or movie.
Even Mein Kampf is technically not censored, (I think) Bavaria has just keeping it out of publication because they have the copyright.
I wonder what's going to happen when it runs out next year :v:

you're talking to one of those "modern" fascists who are peachy with totalitarianism and warmongering but are apparently totally reasonable now because they're against genocide (racism is still a-okay though).
[editline]i[/editline]
please note that most of the fascists and nazi apologists in facepunch are from countries that never had to deal with fascist oppression.

Some schools have been planning to teach it in schools I heard, once the copyright expires

it is a system intrinsically about being as deceptive and opaque to your population as possible and revolves entirely around distracting people from real problems. sometimes that takes bread and sometimes that takes jews
[editline]19th November[/editline]
fascism is about lies, that's what separates it from socialism
I guess they did Nazi that coming.
Next time they need to walk a mile in mein shoes and see how they like it.

Are you implying socialist states don't use deception? Again, this isn't something unique.
