I huh didn't really think this game had enough success in the market to warrant a sequel
This is literally the one video game sequel nobody asked for. For real tho, where the fuck is my Timesplitters 4?
Nobody asked for this. wat
I thought we knew for a long time that Crytek UK was making a Homefront sequel. Anyhow, the graphics are gorgeous, though that's to be expected from Crytek. And I'm getting strong HL2 vibes from some of this.
well, I mean it's surprising, at least probably the first time a sequel to a rubbish modern military shooter has been a surprise
I huh didn't really think this game had enough success in the market to warrant a sequel
It didn't, Homefront had such poor sales and such an average acclaim the company that developed it was defunct, and later on (uncorrelated) the publisher which was THQ went bankrupt. I honestly don't see why anyone would pick this up.
I thought we knew for a long time that Crytek UK was making a Homefront sequel
We did know. It's just that no one gives a damn about Homefront.
We did know. It's just that no one gives a damn about Homefront.
Then why is everyone surprised :v:
Really? Sci Fi Koreans? Looks like they looked at Wolfenstein and went "yeah lets just do that but with Norks instead"
Apparently the games going to basically be an open world city 17 esque sandbox shooter.
Honestly, I'm curious how Crytek will continue the story. At the end of Homefront 1 the USA army was getting ground and regrouping, and the EU was about to reach a decision to help. Now we're in the future, and the USA is under the firm control of NK again. Probably the EU pussied out, won't be surprised.
This didnt need a sequel, but it was a pretty neat trailer I must admit
I suppose the potential is there for a good game, we'll have to see how Crytek is handling this. Isn't it being done by Crytek UK? So, the Free Radical guys? Could be interesting where it goes. And I dunno about anyone else, but the rendering and design of that scene gives me serious Infamous: Second Son vibes.
Apparently the games going to basically be an open world city 17 esque sandbox shooter.
If they make it an open world game and handle guerrilla warfare realistically instead of making it an on-rails CoD clone it might actually be decent.

the game will have three endings you can get depending on your choices #1. kimmy chokes on food and dies #2. north korea surrenders and world peace is declared after kim surrenders his nuclear missiles #3. kimmy is fed to wild dogs
well, it can't be worse than the last one [editline]2nd June 2014[/editline] *furiously knocking on wood*
Fuck Sake... NO ONE WANTS THIS. [editline]2nd June 2014[/editline]
Really? Sci Fi Koreans? Looks like they looked at Wolfenstein and went "yeah lets just do that but with Norks instead"
They had them in the original Home Front. [editline]2nd June 2014[/editline] I've been begging for a World in Conflict sequel, a game that sold well enough to warrant one. FUCKING WE GET THIS INSTEAD.
kimmy j has been busy it seems
Fuck Sake... NO ONE WANTS THIS.
Says you?
I've been begging for a World in Conflict sequel, a game that sold well enough to warrant one. FUCKING WE GET THIS INSTEAD.
don't fret friend, the dev team behind world in conflict is hard at work on the division there is hope yet
I can't wait for the Koreans with nanosuits and then right afterwards no more Koreans and just Aliens. Maybe it can be lizzardmen this time Crytek?
Yes! Finally! I've been waiting for Homefront 2 all the time from crytek.
If they make it an open world game and handle guerrilla warfare realistically instead of making it an on-rails CoD clone it might actually be decent.
No producer would ever put big money behind a realistic guerrilla warfare game, not in a million years.
I'm interested in this game, will keep a close eye on it.
Then why is everyone surprised :v:
Not really surprised, but I'm more mad that it isn't something worthwhile. Like Timesplitters.
I, for one, sort of enjoyed Homefront....
Surely it can be better than the last one.
I've been begging for a World in Conflict sequel, a game that sold well enough to warrant one. FUCKING WE GET THIS INSTEAD.
Instead? No developer or publisher or anything in this has any connection of any kind to WiC, why the fuck would you think this is instead of that?
