Captain James. T Kirk wants a role in Star Wars film
William Shatner is wooing director JJ Abrams to try and get a role in his new Star Wars film.
The actor - famous for playing Captain James T Kirk in the Star Trek TV series and original films - was upset that JJ did not give him a role in his big screen Star Trek reboot, the latest of which, Star Trek Into Darkness, is out this summer.
But William is hoping to get on board for Star Wars Episode VII.
He joked to MovieFanatic.com: "JJ is being a pig. He's collecting the two franchises and holding them close to his vest. He's probably the most talented director of that ilk but he's gone too far this time."
William added: "I think of JJ as a buddy of mine. I've taken him out for sushi. It's time for us to have another sushi and me to put him straight about two of the largest franchises and how not employing me in either one of them is foolhardy
Kinda wanna see that.

that's pretty arrogant isn't it

He's joking, although I'm sure that he's dead serious about trying to get a Star Wars part.

[sp]Don't worry, I'm trying to say he may be old but he's still got his charm[/sp]
Shattner revisiting star trek as Kirk... Kirk would be a much older man, made lonely and tired from age and either much softer or much colder. Remember in TNG Scotty comes on? Kirk would likely have that same act going on, old, tired, and feeling 'out of place'. However, he would have far more tricks up his sleeve than his younger self and be much more hardened and stubborn I would imagine.
That could be entertaining.
Good idea, but I'd want to see him a small role on the lines of what Tarentino usually does in his films.
I'm sure he can be the Star Wars equivalent of The Priceline Negotiator.
Hes too goofy
Son/Father of Jabba the hut? That could work? Surely?

Well... 'cept Jabba's dead.
oh you bastard you edit ninja'd me
Wow what terrible press for Priceline their top negotiator can't even strike a deal
Give the role to Patrick Stewart instead
He should be a retired bounty hunter, something tells me he could pull it off pretty well.

Hamill isn't much better

I don't think Shatner has aged very badly. He is obviously a lot rounder, but he is still active and bubbly with a youthful face.

Him on the other hand....
Wow, this is really shaping up to be the Star Wars film.
Amazing director, original actors all getting on board, plus Trek actors..

But once he's put into some makeup he should look better, god forbid they CG his face to make it look younger.

I don't know what all of you are talking about, that sounds great to me. Shattner is a great actor.
tbh i think he just looks older, still has the likeness imo
He still looks like mark Ham, just fatter, uglier, wrinkly-er, and way older. Nothing some Movie magic makeup can't fix. I'm very excited to see them in the sequels, even if it's just a 2 minute cameo.

It would be weird though, Star wars and Star trek have always been competing against each other for decades. Having a main actor from one series be in the other would be a bit odd. It would kinda be like Elijah Wood or Viggo Mortensen showing up in Harry Potter.
He should just be in a Wookie costume
