• BenQ XL2411Z problems?

Hi, yesterday I made a thread on Tom's Hardware but nobody replied, so I thought I'd give you guys a go. I got a new monitor yesterday, a BenQ XL2411Z, and for ages the 144hz didn't work, and for some reason it suddenly did. It said I was using the incorrect cable even though I was using the dual link cable that came in the box. Now, when I turned my PC on this morning, it said it was the wrong cable and couldn't do 144hz, even though nothing changed. I tried changing the hertz via windows itself as well as in my nvidia control panel. My wallpapers also for some reason go completely black on both my monitors at random times. I have two monitors, but only one is 144hz, and there is no display-port on my monitor. It has one dead pixel too, but that's a different matter. Is the monitor defective or could the cable be defective? I'm on Windows 10 and I've got an i7 6700k, gtx 980ti, I've also installed the displaypilot drivers. Thanks in advance guys, this has been irking me all morning. I also have DisplayPilot installed, the drivers and whatnot.
Cable could be faulty, I can't really think of why else it would do that. Hopefully you have another cable lying around. It might seem like it's stupid for your new cable to be fucked but they just come in a big tote to benq and a worker just tosses it into the monitor box (So they're untested) one wrong bend and it's fucked.
I got it to work last night after like 2 hours of pissing about, but like the day before after a night of my PC being off it stopped working again, as if being off for extended amounts of time fucks it, because I restarted multiple times after I fixed it last night and it was fine. I'm gonna buy a better cable off amazon and find out where the fault lies. Thanks for the reply dude.
When you say you dont have display port on your monitor, do you mean the BenQ? That model has a display port. Whoops nevermind, I put in the wrong model.
