• RAM units got pretty small

Dear guys, I'm Heinrich Heine, a pretty important german late romanticist poet/author, so I'm kind of important and I like to make fun of Schlegel that vein prick - anyways: This is my first post, I thought I should introduce myself. So I built a PC, which is pretty okay, actually it's pretty good, after like seven years not having a Desktop PC and using a Laptop just for Uni stuff. My concern is: I'm actually pretty surprised by the size of the Ram units (the RAM units arrived first - the rest has yet to arrive)! I remember that they used to be bigger back in the days , mine are fricking small. I got myself these : Kingston-KVR13N9S8K2 (2x4gb) for a MSI Z87-G43 Mobo - are they too fucking small for the Mobo or am I just not up to date?
Those are roughly the same size as any desktop RAM sticks manufactured in the last ten years. I have DDR1 sticks that look almost exactly like that (except they're DDR1 and like 512MB each). Nothing's wrong. Unless your RAM sticks aren't what shows up in a Google Image search for that model number. If they're about half the length of normal RAM sticks, you might've bought laptop RAM sticks.
Googling the parts gave a link at Centre Com, where it's listed as desktop RAM.

Thanks guys.
Why do I have a feeling this guy is actually a spambot trying to establish reputation?
Nah, I'm not. I'm really that ignorant, but I appreciate all the serious answers, I really was freaked out for a moment.
I didn't search them, but that product code looks snd awful lot like the low profile ddr3 we have at work. That may be ehy they look small.
If they're about half the length of normal RAM sticks, you might've bought laptop RAM sticks.
He bought "low profile" RAM. They're basically the same as normal RAM except the PCB that the RAM chips are mounted on is about 3/5ths the height of a normal RAM stick. Low profile RAM is good in situations where you have restricted room (or if you just hate normal height RAM sticks for some reason.) For instance, if you have a fuckmassive heatsink that obstructs RAM slots, LP RAM may help. Though you usually don't find LP RAM in the performance variety.
If you have issues installing it make sure the notch in the stick matches up with the raised part of the mobo Oh and forget to check the manual to see what slots you need to fill for dual channel

Do you recommend me to get the normal height units?
