Planning to upgrade router to gigabit...one problem

Currently, I use verizon FiOs for internet, phone, and TV. It's some good shit, never any problems. But I think its time I upgrade to a Gigabit router. Originally, they gave me a 10/100 router which is holding me back slightly. I only have one issue: the router is connected via a coax cable and is a MoCa router. I'm not sure if I can just buy a MoCa compatible router and plug and play, or would I need to contact Verizon and pay a shit ton for a new one.
So you have a router/modem combo?
Verizon should have a list of compatible modems. Then you can keep them separate.
Contact verizon and explain the problem, you dont have to hand out cash just for asking
Okay so I can just contct them and they can send me an upgraded router?

This is probably a waste of your time, I doubt you have a gigabit NIC in the PCs.
Really? Even my 4~ year old mobo has one and it wasn't all that expensive.

I have a P4 Dell Optiplex that I got from my church for free had one built in. I want to think it was a fairly high end model (since it had SATA as well), but it had 256 MB of RAM.
Either way, the OP could always buy cards. They cost maybe what, $10? $20 at the most?
Just connect the Verizon router to a new router via Ethernet, and all computers connect to the new router. This way only internet use will go through to the Verizon router.
See if you can switch off the integrated switch (and wireless if you use an external access point) so it's in router/modem-only mode. Then hang a gigabit switch off that for you to connect all your gear to.
This was my first thought
