These are the contents of a mysterious white bag found hidden in Neil Armstrong’s closet: Weird looking lamps, wrenches, utility brackets, sights and a film camera that later was identified as the one that captured the famous Apollo 11′s descent on the Moon’s surface. Nobody knew about it, including his widow.
According to NASA, Carol Armstrong sent photos to Allan Needell, curator of the Apollo collection at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum, who immediately knew what was inside: It was a McDivitt Purse full of parts from the Eagle, Apollo 11′s Lunar Module:

Of utmost importance is the 16mm movie camera with its 10mm lens. The camera was mounted behind the right forward window of the lunar module and was used to film the final phase of the descent to the lunar surface, the landing, as well as Neil Armstrong’s and Buzz Aldrin’s activities on the lunar surface including taking the first samples of lunar soil and planting the US flag.
the greatest part is perhaps the camera that shot some of the most iconic footage of the apollo program was in there

"Time for a true mooning bitches"
"neil dont opEN THE SUIT"
This is really incredible. Not just the camera, but the very alignment sight he was looking through when he landed the LEM. NASA must have thought all this priceless stuff got abandoned when they dumped the LEM.
I can't nobody found out until now. I guess he must have figured somebody would stumble on it after he died and put it all in a museum. I certainly don't begrudge him for keeping some stuff that would have been dumped anyway.
Wow I didn't know he was dead.
Neil is dead????
Wait what he is dead. I didnt even know.
Holy shit! I guess he didn't want to mention it because of the risk of conspiratards doing dumb things such as robbery, and Neil would be rightly justified in keeping the fact that he had the stuff a secret.

I can imagine it not being so important at the time, he put it in a shoebox which eventually ended up in his closet and he forgot about it over time and here we are now with it.
snip, bad reading
This is amazing, and I hope the footage is put online.
i like how while all the items were important to the mission he also chose to bring back the cap for the shit-vessel (technical term) was also brought back, it literally contained the first turds on the moon, and nobody thought to bring it back except neil
Turds on the Moon, haha! In space no one can hear you poop.
