Hey Facepunch, I've decided to update an old PC I have. Budget is around €200.
I've really got no idea as to what I'm supposed to update, but I'd like to play Battlefield 3 on reasonable settings.
Specs:
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.00GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 2048MB RAM
Hard Drive: SATA 200 GB Total
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS
I already own a mouse and keyboard, as well as a fairly shit monitor.
Don't have much more info than that, since the PC isn't at my current location. Hope it isn't too vague.
Appreciate it.
Nothing much you can do with a system like that nowadays without rebuilding the whole thing.
Find out if your motherboard can support a core 2 duo, if it can that would be a good start.
I'm assuming that's DDR2 memory, so you might see if your motherboard can support more (Check for open DIMM slots on your motherboard, and look at the specs of it to see if it is capable of holding more then 2 gigs)
As for a video card, I'm not so sure. I am an AMD fanboy and i wouldn't know what to tell you to get without the possibility of it being bottlenecked by your CPU.
The best advice i can offer in this situation, get some more cash and rebuild your system completely (Maybe use some of your old stuff if possible such as hardrive/case/PSU/CD drives)
I'll be looking into all that. Thanks BabyEater.
