Sony started off as the good guy against Microsoft's Xbox One by announcing support for game-lending and resale at the E3 2013 conference back in June. No-DRM was also a key point of Sony's PS4 presentation. However, Sony has updated the Software Usage Terms for the UK and backtracked on the claims it had made earlier.
Well then!

Hoo boy.. Hope it's just a misunderstanding and only applies towards reselling, not 'overall' (not that it'd change much really).
Fuck it, looks like the Wii U is the only way!
They waited with this because they knew they could rack up pre-order sales, and so they could be the 'good guys' and trick everyone. Jesus. Those motherfuckers.
I wonder what other pleseant surprises await us as the consoles come closer to launch
racking up tons of publicity on a claim they knew they wouldn't keep to
well then
Very fucked up indeed, but it doesn't neccesarily define the end of "used games" if all it requires is the consent of Sony/publishers.
We'll have to wait and see how lenient they are towards game stores requesting permission to do so. Of course, this DOES mean that individual sales aren't going to be possible, which will suck for those unwilling to use game stores as a middleman.
That's alright, I was gonna upgrade my PC eventually anyway.
I thought that was only for games obtained via PSN.

I don't see how anybody trusted a gigantic company that doesn't give a shit about them.
Like, what was everyone's basis for doing so? "Microsoft is worse?" lmfao.
PC Gaming master race has never been more true.

i almost typed up a "what about steam/origin" post but I realize PC gaming's probably going to be better off 'cause we've got GOG and shit.

Fuck that, I will sell my used games to who ever I want, a ToS will not stop me. And if a game has a code to stop reselling, fuck them.
This is stupid. How are they going to know if you've resold a disc based game or not? How do you even resell a digital version of a game? Once again people are just overreacting to what is probably a standard bit of legal ass covering.
Jesus christ holy exaggeration.
This is the same legalese you see on anything. All it means is you're not supposed to buy a game then sell it to a buddy, same with movies and music. Nobody follows that noise.
Even if it was real that link goes to "PS3-eula" on a shitty fan site.
I'm usually against dumb conspirator bullshit, but this is how I see it going down.
Sony's got everyone in their hands. They haven't even needed to try over the last few months because the entire internet is against Microsoft. My guess is that they'll try to implement something really weird and fucked up, like this, and will either a) get away with it because everyone loves them and will try to defend itor b) get dethroned.
you done fucked up now, sony.

Not to mention, and you know it's an important point, that piracy is hella easier on PC.
Ever since steam came by and started selling games cheaper than they are actually worth I pretty much entirely stopped pirating games but the fact it's there is always nice.
I don't think playstation.net is an actual sony site.
Playstation.com is the real site.

I'd rather to wait for a response from Sony before jumping the gun on this ToS wording. We've already been reminded time and time again how MS feels about it, I think it is only fair to let sony have some time to respond.

playstation.net doesn't even exist.
playstation-4.net exists, and it's a fan site.
So, yeah, it's fake.
Maybe its a domain owned by Microsoft.
Gamers are pretty fuckin gullible
I don't think playstation.net is an actual sony site.

It seems to be a fake in this case.
If anybody still thinks this is real, you need to sit and think for ten seconds.
There is absolutely no value in blocking resale for Sony.
I mean, fuck, the link goes to a site that doesn't even exist. It's a floating page with a fake EULA.
They waited with this because they knew they could rack up pre-order sales, and so they could be the 'good guys' and trick everyone. Jesus. Those motherfuckers.
This wouldn't make sense. Even if they did make pre-order sales, doing something like this would effectively stop any sales after the fact. It would do them no good in the long run and I can't see them doing it.
I think windwakr wants it to be real :v:
Steam has similar rules in their ToS.
Here's an idea:
How about somebody make a console that doesn't fucking suck? XBox One was a stream of fuckups, this is starting to go downhill, and WiiU doesn't have any of the games I want. Somebody do it right, please.
