As long as they don't touch their localisation, we're fine. Just let them do what they were doing before and they will make you money, Sega.
maybe persona 5 will actually exist in the future now?

it's probably already done and they're just adding a hint of social justice to make it hip and modern
Great, now not only will any franchise that isn't Persona get screwed over, but if something else DOES get made, it'll probably never be translated, and be a complete bastardization compared to the previous games in the series.
See Valkyria Chronicles, the sequels were made only on the PSP, and 3 was never translated:

The PSP was doing better than the PS3 at the time, and nobody actually bought Valkyria Chronicles in the west, so it's not like they went and brought the hammer down on your fun for no reason.

Why do they turn into school kids oh god.

Yeah VC only sold 33k copies in the US during the first week compared to 77k in Japan. It was also the third highest-selling game in Japan with just over a million copies sold.
With all that in mind it's hardly surprising the series stayed in Japan and stuck with the PSP, which had a much greater appeal than the PS3 at the time due to games like the Monster Hunter series on the handheld.
Tl;dr , Sega made a good business decision regarding their main audience and western fans got upset. (Which is understandable)

Because it wasn't ~moe~ enough and wouldn't sell otherwise
This is really going to piss of Totalbiscuit.
At least it wasn't Nintendo. Or Capcom. That would've been a catastrophe.
Sega port those games on PC. Especially Dragon's Crown

From my understanding, present day Nintendo is very good publisher to work with. From an interview with Kamiya:
NL: When it became clear that Wonderful 101 would be a Nintendo project, what were your expectations for working directly with Nintendo?
Kamiya: I’d say rather than having anticipation or expectation for Nintendo I was filled with a lot of worries about what it would be like to work with them. Nintendo has this track record and this huge library of very successful titles, so I sort of expected Nintendo to come with all of this user research or very strong analytics about how game design led to certain sales results. I was expecting to receive these data-based instructions for how to go forward with the game, but in actuality working with Mr. Yamagami and his staff at Nintendo, it really was a mutually beneficial relationship; it felt like craftsmen working together to mutually make the game better. In the end, everyone was really happy with the relationship. It exceeded my expectations.
NL: In what ways did they provide support? Did they mostly leave you to your own devices, offer guidance creatively or business-wise, or otherwise?
Kamiya: First of all, from a technical standpoint they provided a lot of support. This was our first time working on this particular hardware, so they were able to answer a lot of questions and it was really helpful to have their technical expertise. From a design and production standpoint, we got the impression early on that they really understood Platinum Games and they were very respectful of our design process — actually, their feedback worked very well with the structure we have. They didn’t just say, “go ahead and make the game,” they provided a lot of feedback about what might make the game more interesting or perhaps tuning this or that in a certain way could be beneficial. We at Platinum would go back and say, “we did this, what do you think of it?” It was really a game of catch, a very good relationship.
I'm down with this.

Lost my shit.
Thank God Capcom or Square Enix didn't get them.
Still think Sony or Nintendo would have been the best options, but at least this way they aren't restricted to exclusives.
I wonder if there's a possibility we could see future Atlus releases on PC. That'd be pretty awesome.

for a minute there i thought they meant this guy
I really do hope that this just means more localizations. I wouldn't like to see any of the IPs that Atlus has get run into the ground.

Except for the fact that Atlus titles would then be Nintendo only so no.
Atlus was/is finally supporting Steam as well, it'd be a shame to lose that.
I'm just hoping Sega leaves Atlus alone and lets them continue to do what they were doing.
But in interest in honesty, I highly doubt Sega won't put their hands in somewhere.
Damn shame, too, considering SMT and Persona were a few of my favorite video game series.

I wasn't talking about it in that aspect, but the fact they were being compared to Capcom.
Good news
Naoto Hiraoka, the head of consumer software for the Atlus game brand, issued a statement on Wednesday to assure fans that business will continue as before. Sega Sammy Holdings confirmed earlier in the day that Sega will form a wholly owned subsidiary to take over the operations of Index Corporation by November 1. Index owns and manages Atlus, a former independent company and the current brand of games such as Etrian Odyssey, Shin Megami Tensei, and Persona.
Hiraoka acknowledged that the Atlus brand will become part of the Sega Sammy Group (specifically, the new subsidiary Sega Dream), but added that the entire consumer game unit will remain focused on developing titles for future release. He said that his brand has maintained a good relationship with Sega from before, and added that he thinks the current potential for business synergy is very high. He specifically highlighted Sega's strong distribution network as beneficial going forward.
