Ok I am going to try and go into enough detail to try get a good picture of the situation here. It's Wednesday July 5, it’s about 4 p.m. or 16:00 and I am driving my friend over to my house and me and him are going to mow my yard, he needs some extra cash and I didn't really want to do it. My parents and rest of the family are in Missouri for vacation and are coming back tomorrow night. So I figured we could hang out and do yard work. I have two dogs they are brittany spaniels. One is named Jack, the other is Josie. They look like this: [thumb]http://www.dogsindepth.com/sporting_dog_breeds/images/brittany_spaniel_h02.jpg[/thumb] So my friend started to mow and I started to weed eat. I put the dogs in their pen, and block the doorway so they can’t get out. They repeatedly got out so I would pick them up, and drop them back in their pen. So we took a couple of breaks to drink water and cool off. I see the dogs break out again. So I pick them up, carry them back, and drop them in. No here are some rudely drown graphics to give the layout of the pen. I start to look for the path they take to leave the pen. My friend says “They probably jump on that stump there and climb over the fence.” As soon as he said that, Josie jumps up and over the fence. I decide I will jump over and throw the stump into the middle of the pen. I jump over and pick up the stump. Jack and Josie are both standing next to me. I pick it up over and my head and chuck it. Josie runs off forwards, but Jack runs right in the path of the stump. He is under the stump right when the stump lands. It hits his head and neck and his back almost looked as if it was an “L” shape. It was about a 60 degree angle. If you are more of a visual guy I drew some pictures. Don’t worry, they are safe. I got down on one knee and put my hand on his stomach. I called his name and he moved his head towards my voice. I saw that his eyes looked like they were bulging out a little. My friend goes and fetches some water and he tells me to splash it on him to keep him cool. It’s almost 100 degrees outside and since he wasn’t panting we thought that was the only way to keep him cool. I got on my phone and looked up the emergency 24/7 veterinary care. I talked to Melissa , I said “A large object has fallen on the back of my dog’s neck area. He started to seize and was breathing. Blood was coming out of his mouth.” She sat there for a bit and replied “Okay, the exam for your dog will be $76.00 or 47 pounds. Any extra medication, treatment, or housing will be built upon that fee. Are you going to bring him in? If so, I need to let a doctor know.” I sat there for a bit thinking I did not have that much money in my account. I do not have any neighbors or family friends that I could call for help. “I am going to have to think about what I have to do. I will call you back if I decide to bring him in.” I asked my friend that if it came to it. If we killed him and buried him could we bury him in his yard. (He has a large amount of land and half of it is forest) He said that his parents were there so he doesn’t know. I called my other friend and asked if I could bury it in his yard. He said he lived in city limits and could not bury animals there. I did not want to bury him at my house because my family would find out. I also did not know how I was going to kill him. I did not know of any guns in the house or anything. My two ideas were drowning him or smashing the stump on his head/neck again. I checked on him again and his back was not out of shape and more but flies started gathering and he started to hyperventilate. I figured if I was going to kill him I needed to do it fast. I go into my house and started to look around. I look in all of the places my parents would hide a gun. I then remembered that there is a .22 in the laundry room. It belongs to my little brother. I bring that outside and show my friend. I have very little experience with guns and he has more than me. He knows a bit about guns. I did not have any ammunition. I figured this was the best way to put him out of his misery and the easiest. So with the yard half done we left for Wal-Mart. We walk into Wal-Mart and head for the sporting section. There is an old man at the register and we ask for .22 LR ammunition. He pulls it out and we buy about 50 bullets. It costs me $1.60, just under a pound. I thank him and leave. We are driving home and my friend tells me that he will load the gun for me, but he will not shoot him. I have never shot anything besides targets before. I drive home thinking how I am going to approach this. We walk into the backyard and still see him there where he was hit. His eyes are shut and he is just breathing. Periodically he will cry and scream. I tried to call him name and put my hand on him. He was scared of my touch and voice. My friend loaded up the gun and put on the safety. I asked him if we should practice shoot, make sure it works. I pulled it up, looked down the sights and pulled the trigger. It makes a quick pop and a hole appears in the cup. My friend grabs my other dog Josie and walks off. He didn’t want her to see him. They are brother and sister. I pull the gun up once more and this kid who lives next to me called out my name. I quickly pull the gun down and answer back. I tried to stand in front of the dog so he wouldn’t see. He went back inside. I told my friend that I didn’t want to kill him here, I wanted to go somewhere more secluded. I get a trash bag and roll him over onto the bag. We started to carry him behind my big oak tree. Halfway there, he started to flail and scream and yell. He rubbed his blood covered nose all over my shoe and leg. We continued to carry him and laid him down softly. My friend led my dog away for the last time. I took a breath, looked down the sights and aimed it at the back of his head. I made sure that I wouldn’t miss, thinking what would happen if I miss or it didn't kill him. I looked at him for a bit longer and pulled the trigger. I will not go into detail but he did not make a sound. He flexed all of his muscles is what it looked like and finally fell. I started to walk back to my friend. I went inside and got another bag and tied it up and placed a wheelbarrow over him. I know of this dead end road with a forest at the end, past that there is an abandoned house with more forest behind that. In that forest there is a clearing just a little ways off and huge rocks. I figure that is where I can bury him. My friend asks to go home because he has to go see his parents. I take him home and I ask him if he will help me with this next part. He said he would gladly help. I call up my other friend I was talking to earlier and he said he would help me too. I am now sitting here writing this in Word. I have no idea how I will tell my parents and siblings, if I even tell them. I might tell them that he just ran away. I don’t know how we will get him down there without anyone seeing us, how late we will stay out, or if any trouble comes of this. I am just hoping for the best. It’s 9:31 p.m. or 21:31. I will update this thread as more carries out. (User was banned for this post ("Sociopath(?) - Get your shit sorted out" - Craptasket))
You monster!
I'm sorry, I imagine you feel terrible, but don't keep it a secret. It was an accident, and whatever guilt you feel by lying will probably end up being worse than whatever punishment you may receive.
sorry for your loss dawg
going to hell for laughing at this...
Why would you even throw a stump?
You monster!
That avatar is dissapoint already.
dumb asshole you dont chuck shit randomly and expect it not to damage things and whats fucking sicker than that shit is you shoot your own dog you are one fucking careless piece of shit i couldnt even point a gun at my dog
Don't try to cover it up, that's a pansy move. Be an actual grownup and admit to what happened, it was an accident.
That's fucked up bro, consider a psychiatrist
I think it might be best if you just told them the truth, and that you put the dog out of its misery. Well, if your parents are the kind of people that will even accept something like that..
What in the fuck, dude? I'm actually speechless. I mean, how can you take this so matter-of-course? "Well, I broke my dog's neck with a stump. I hope mom and dad don't find out!"
Covering it up will only make things worse possibly jail time. Just call them and tell it was a accident. I also can't believe you are trying to hide the truth.
I don't get it Why would you throw shit randomly in perfect knowledge that dogs always chase things that you throw?
That's fucking terrible. You throw a stump on it by accident, crippling it, and then instead of finding $76 to help the dog properly you shoot it in the back of the head, and THEN try to cover it up? What are you going to say that the dog ran off? I'm sorry but I can't find a way to make you look like the good guy in this story. This is just awful.
It would have cost much more than that to actually give the dog treatment. It's likely they would have had him put down anyway. I can't totally fault him for shooting the dog
You would rather save 47 pounds than potentially save your dogs life. You're a terrible person.
sorry for your loss dawg
Before you edited that, You posted 'cool'
OP is pretty much a dick.
You should be ashamed of yourself.
"Welp, broke my dog's neck with a stump. I hope mom and dad don't find out!"
It's terrorbad after that part
Troll.
...Just tell them what you told us.
I feel bad for you. However you're gonna probably end up having to tell them what really happened to Jack. If you tell them he ran away they'll spend a lot of time looking for him with no results, just a bunch of wasted effort really.
You shouldn't do that. That's not okay. Also, I love how you go from 'the dog is sick' to 'I better kill it'.
You would rather save 47 pounds than potentially save your dogs life. You're a terrible person.
Dude that's the exam fee Actual medical procedures on pets costs thousands of dollars
Careless move, I feel more sorry for the dog than the OP, good job.
It wouldn't be as bad if you didn't consider lying to your fucking parents about how you fucked up and killed your dog.
Careless move bro
How could you even take the time to go and buy some bullets to kill it with. That's wasted money and time that you could've spent trying to help the poor thing. And what the heck did you expect to happen by throwing heavy shit around when you've got two dogs running around. You're too fucking wreckless to be able to own a pet.
dude What the fuck is wrong with you.
