The year is 2068.
Captain Scarlet Is a supermarionation(That's right, puppets,) kids series made by gerry anderson. originating from 1967, and ending in 1968, On a cliffhanger, it stars Paul Metcalfe, Spectrum Codename Captain Scarlet. A man who works for the aformentioned spectrum, essentially the international Specops. Captain scarlet, in the first few minutes of the first episode, died in a horrible, firey car crash(Yeah people actually got killed in kids shows back then) And was recreated by the mysterons, After his friend captain brown's mysteroniz-ation exploded(Yeah, EXPLODED), attempting to blow the FUCK Out of the president of the world. failed, Captain Scarlet's recreation drove up to the top of a massive carpark with the president, then, he was shot by his friend captain blue, fell to earth, and the mysterons lost control, he now lives on, indestructable. Through the course of 31 episodes(Discounting the first episode, as he's a mysteron for 90% of that) he saves the earth dozens of times. there's rarely an episode however, in which scarlet doesn't die horribly violently. infact in the first episode there's a closeup of his brutally beaten face, seen below. Captain scarlet's powers are, as quoted from Spectrum-Headquarters:
With Captain Brown, Captain Scarlet was the first known human being to have been subjected to the process of retrometabolism by the Mysterons (It is unknown if Captain Black had truly been Mysteronised on Mars, or if he is still human). Scarlet is also the only known human being, to date, to break free of Mysteron control, and the reason why that happened is still a mystery, although many theories have been proposed. Remaining loyal to Spectrum, he became the organisation’s most effective weapon against the Mysterons, for he retained from his experience the power of retrometabolism. He can heal from any wound, even a mortal one, in a matter of only a few hours, without even a scar to remind him of the incident.
Scarlet can also feel the presence of a Mysteron agent nearby or when danger, related to the Mysterons, is imminent – although this particular ability, for some unknown reason, does not work all the time. This ‘sixth sense’ manifests itself in the form of nausea and dizziness. Scarlet also retained the strange imperviousness to X-rays – he shows a ‘normal’ image from an X-ray shot – like all Mysterons agents, and like them, he seems to be vulnerable to high voltage electricity.
It has been postulated that Scarlet’s body works like a walking solar battery, constantly recharging itself, holding energy in reserve to heal wounds. He therefore needs very little sleep, as seems to be indicated in episodes such as “Lunarville 7”, “Inferno”, “Shadow of Fear” and “The Trap”, where we see him prowling corridors at night-time. Other theories – mainly by fanfic authors – suggested alcoholic beverages or medical drugs would have little or no effect on him – or that his body would have to absorb an enormous quantity before he would feel any effect, the speedy metabolism of his body burning any foreign substance nearly as soon as it enters his bloodstream.

Essentially captain scarlet is pretty much the best series involving puppets since thunderbirds(Which isn't that great if you're over 5) I reccomend if you can't buy it, then try watching an episode or two on youtube.

I can remember playing Captain Scarlet in the playground, shooting captain black but then crashing into a tyre pile and ending up dead. that was awesome
That is my favorite TV show! I watched the entire first season when it aired, but I hated the new direction the show took in season 2 (the whole Jennings & Rall conspiracy).

I recently started watching this show. I had never heard of it until I happened to come across it one day, and decided to check it out. Glad I did.
The protagonist in the show is Thomas Veil, a successful photojournalist who has it all: A wife, a career, friends. However, one night, it is all taken away from him.
One second he's sitting with his wife having dinner at their favorite restaurant, when Thomas has to go to the bathroom. As he leaves the bathroom, however, his wife is gone. The owner of the restaurant has no idea who he is. He runs home only to discover his wife has no idea who he is, and a man he has never met before is now married to his wife. His bank account no longer works. His entire identity has been erased.
Unfortunately the show only lasted one season (despite great ratings, the show was canceled).
Sounds like a good show
I've been seeing this a lot lately. (Around FP, not watching it)
My entire family used to watch Captain scarlet and if I remember correctly it used to scare me, in my defense I was quite young at the time.
The opening was kick ass.
*RAAAOW!* *KCHHH! CHK-RUUUH!* *TUDDATUDDATUDDA EEEOOOOW!* *PCHOW!* "URK!" *BOM BOM BOM BOMBOMBOMBOM!* Leading the fight one man fate has made indestructable, his name, captain scarlet!
Used to watch this all the time. Somehow he was indestrucatable and I didn't even think it to be ridiculous.
The theme tune of this show rocked.
Is a supermarionation
Super Mario Nation?
Oh sweet jesus I loved Captain Scarlet, now my nostalgia is forcing me to think about it more and more.
He looks like an Oblivion NPC.
Super Mario Nation?
An abbreviation for Super Marionette Animation

I kinda guessed, I put it there anyway. :v:
This was by the same people who did Thunderbirds right?
I always preferred Thunderbirds due to the characters but Captain Scarlett had a more interesting intro.
Cpt. Scarlet in my opinion is better than thunderbirds because it doesn't have bobbleheads due to tech advances
