He's already in the biggest movie so far this year. So how else is Captain America celebrating turning 75? By getting a new statue in his beloved hometown.
For the superhero’s anniversary, Marvel is unveiling a 13-foot-tall bronze Cap at San Diego Comic-Con (July 20-24) before it heads east on a cross-country trip and lands in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park for a dedication ceremony on Aug. 10.
This is what the statue is going to look like:

Right after the "Hail Hydra" fiasco? Sheesh.

It's Marvel, give it a month or two before they reveal Cap was a double agent.

Already happened.
It feels like Captain America is gonna be immortalized as our era's mythology in the distant future.

more specifically [sp]he had false memories implanted to make him think he was a hydra agent[/sp]

The issue right after the reveal of Hydra gave the reason as to why Cap said that.
It being [sp] Red Skull manipulated a sentient cosmic cube to give Cap false memories of joining Hydra. [/sp]

When the world ends and everything is in ruin, aliens will find this statue and be so confused.

aliens will find this statue and be overwhelmed with freedom and patriotism
[editline]5th July 2016[/editline]
it looks like it's going to be evan's cap
how badass would it be to have a life size statue made in your image? i don't think most actors can even come close
countdown until someone graffitis it.
Fuck it.
Cap's got my vote.
This reminds me what ever happened to that RoboCop statue?
It's Marvel, give it a month or two before they reveal Cap was a double agent.
Even if they had not revealed, it was obvious as fuck that was gonna happen.

It's almost done, according to their last backer update.
Im sure it'll be cool and all, but why specifically his MCU design?
You'd think a celebration of a character with 75 years of history would use the most iconic one.
it's gonna be crowded as fuck during aug 10 so i'll try to take some pictures a few days after
can't help but feel a bit of solidarity seeing as how i'm also a kid from brooklyn
They should have thrown in Hitler too, imo.

I'm going to make a pilgrimage once it's done, this is just too awesome
but Cap is originally from Lower East Side, why are they using the MCU version of the character to celebrate 75 years of him in comic books?

Because most of the fans that are around now are more familiar with the MCU and probably haven't read more than a handful of comics in their lives. It's basically just knowing their audience.

and 616 rogers became a hydra agent for 2 seconds to use headlines to boost sales
your point?
