I have been learning to play a lot of pop/rock punk music, and a lot of it requires overdriven guitar. My amp (a cheap little thing I got with my first guitar) is okay and can distort the sound, but it has no overdrive effect. I went to my nearest music shop today, but I only had £40 on me and they started at £45. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good effects pedal for less that £40, £50 at a push. If you need any more information, just ask.
Could you be just a bit more specific? I'm not too sure about what sound you want, but I'll suggest the Little Big Muff anyway. It has an amazing tone and crunch to it, definitely one of my favorites. I'm pretty sure you can get one from £40 to £50.

I want an overdrive effect pedal to play Fall Out Boy, Blink, Angels and Airwaves etc. I don't have masses of money (spent it all on my new guitar).
