Tbh I'm not sure how much I can trust this series as it exists only to slam trump
no matter how true it is, it's a very blatantly one sided series
just look at all of the other videos

Like he made a great point with the wall video, but I feel like I'm watching a liberal alex jones. It reminds me of my father watching the same same shit, but on the other side of the political spectrum.

Keith Oberman is an airhead and this kind of vacuum rhetoric is exactly the kind of thing that ended up helping Trump in the end.

No, the Hillary campaign failing to campaign in what they though was secure states is one of the primary reasons; the other is Hillary herself, lastly it's because of the inherently republican biased electoral college system.

Yeah, "traditional" public media pushing disagreeing members of its audience into the internet alternative media's echo chambers had absolutely nothing to do with it.
Yeah, "traditional" public media pushing disagreeing members of its audience into the internet alternative media's echo chambers had absolutely nothing to do with it.
It had a negligible effect, most people on facebook are already immersed in their own eco chamber, and the hard right-wingers already did years ago.
It's an asinine accusation that people who spoke up against trump are the reason he won.
I guess critics of Trump should've just shut the fuck up and he wouldn't won. :downs:

If by "spoke up against Trump" you mean shat all over people who weren't 100% behind Hillary - yes, it's a contributing factor. Negligible when compared to, well, Hillary herself and everything around her - again, yes, but still it wasn't necessary and could've been avoided.
I guess critics of Trump should've just shut the fuck up and he wouldn't won
I get that its not a serious thing here, but given the fact that Hillary won popular by a significant margin, not shitting all over people very well could've contributed to her winning the election, I can easily imagine that.
We're inside an echo chamber inside an echo chamber.
Yeah, "traditional" public media pushing disagreeing members of its audience into the internet alternative media's echo chambers had absolutely nothing to do with it.
Most likely didn't as the voting records show that Republican votes barely increased while it was Democratic votes that decreased. Corresponding more likely to lack of trust in Hillary than swinging to Republican.

Maybe I don't view enough facepunch, or political media in general, but I'm pretty sure most of the vitriol was just against Trump, not just against people not supporting Hillary. I mean maybe I can't see it, I voted for her after-all.
I just don't think it had any meaningful impact on the votes, of the people I know who voted for Trump: A voted for him despite all the evidence being contradictory, and even after admitting he was flawed, B voted because he hates 'that bitch hillary', C voted because Trump "Has a good relationship with Putin". Each are their own situations, B will never ever vote for anything that isn't horrendously backwards, there is no reasoning here. A was already set in stone, having fallen into Trump's cult of personality. C is the only person who's opinion could've changed, but I personally think they're going to vote whatever the meme magic dictates.
Though I do think with progressiveness being the now-dominant worldview (As shown by Hillary winning the popular vote), we could see the Alt-right and other regressive and anti-intellectual opinions become the 'new cool'.
[editline]23rd November 2016[/editline]
I should also come clean and say Keith Olbermann is pretty much my internal dialogue on this whole issue, the sheer anger and frustration gets across how I feel about this whole situation.

Yup. Media was too busy shitting on everyone who wasn't instantly for Hillary to actually tell why Hillary is a good choice despite what's constantly coming out from under her campaign. As a result, some people who weren't for Trump felt alienated decided not to go at all, at least as far as I've read it seems like a very common sentiment.

Yeah well I'm not saying that it was entirely directed at Trump supporters and people who were just against Hillary, the majority of vitriol was against Trump, that's true. But there still was shitting on audience, there was a lot of it - and considering that it's a cardinal sin to tell your audience off, every bit is too much. You kind of generally don't do that, that's why I'm speaking only about it - shitting on Trump himself or any other candidate is a fair game, that's what media's for.
Then we have the fact that AFAIK, there was too little attention to Trump's complete and utter incompetence and too much attacks on his character with all the pussygrabbing and whatnot, that isn't ideal too. Although, that's not just Trump, that's media in this elections in general: Trump is a racist-misogynist, Bernie is a hippie-commie, Hillary is a woman and you're totally with her.

Totally, this is something I saw from both aisles, "Well, she's terrible but at least she isn't him", and that her qualifications were only that she wasn't Trump. And it's something I've tried to stay away from doing this election, since I genuinely thought she was a good candidate (Not as good as Bernie, who was my first pick, but still a good second).
cringe tbh like that "you know this man" shit
i think that trump deserves absolutely biting criticism but this isn't a very good way of doing it
the name alone 'the resistance' makes it feel kinda childish
"The Resistance"
Does he think he's leading some revolution or something?
Yeah, "traditional" public media pushing disagreeing members of its audience into the internet alternative media's echo chambers had absolutely nothing to do with it.
If this were true Trump would have actually beaten Hillary badly and really tapped into demographics republicans couldn't do so before, rather than both having poor turnout. Hillary, by most democratic standards, should have had it perfectly in the bag but she neglected people who then didn't turn out to vote.

It's almost as if people sometimes use hyperbolic titles for their series
It's so obviously biased it's almost embarrassing.
Bias doesn't really equate you to alex jones tho. Being detacted from reality does. Kind of like how the young turks at times will often fulfil the role of being a left-wing alex jones. Like it or not, Keith is actually citing history and coming to conclusions without any major errors or lack of cogency from what I can tell. It's either that or just saying "I know what Trump has said and done before but lets reserve judgement!"
This guy has always been cringey.
That first video where it was him "feeling sorry" for people like voting for Trump did not change anyone's mind.
Just made me more resolute to make an idiot like him look like a utter tool.
And guess what, he seems quite rustled.
Stop getting mad about Trump and divert your anger towards the complete fuckup that is the DNC. Trump did not win the election in the traditional sense; rather, the continuous incompetence of the DNC and their insistence on putting an unelectable candidate with one of the weakest campaigns in history on the ballot threw the election out of the window and right into the dump.

But that takes more effort and self-reflection that the original approach was wrong!

you actually do treat politics like a sport
this is about enjoyment for you
that's kinda what people oppose in a lot of ways

tell me more about the republican biased electoral college when democrats have California (at 55, the state with the most electoral college votes) and the entire Northeast.
Can we please just stop with these bullshit politics videos? I was really hoping it would die out with the election ending.

we're just getting started
facepunch is a liberal leaning forum, they dislike any republican president other than possibly kasich. Trump is the worst possible republican president for FP so the circlejerking against trump will last for 4-8 more years

I don't think I could beat a tool like Keith Olberman. The guy and media doesn't even realize that his strategy of arguing didn't work at all.
The guy is GQ's whipping boy to spout fear once a week now.
Keith Olbermann did nothing wrong.

Why is "bias" a bad thing if what is being said is entirely correct?
The series is a commentary and critique of the man elected to be the future president of the United States, and everything he may stand for (it's really hard to pin that bit down). If Trump has an entirely factual history of being fucking garbage, why is it "biased" to call him out on it? Why is it a "bad thing" to inform people of how actually awful some of his ideas and views on various topics are?
Bias is bad when it is being used to unfairly represent one side with extreme hyperbole or outright fabrication. Critique of someone or something isn't inherently a bad thing, you don't have to show both sides of the "argument" in this scenario at least as it isn't a debate. Trump is the only person that matters at this point in time, as at this point in time he is the future leader of the country. Critique of him using his own words and actions against him is only a good thing. After all, should you not strive for someone who isn't this objectively nasty a person?

what a stupid post
clearly, we're a hive mind, though, you're here, so, clearly, we're not
and I also really, really enjoy how you turn any and all criticism of Trump into a "CIRCLEJERK"
Good fucking god forbid we talk shit about Trump after you spent 8 years talking shit about Obama, or is hypocrisy okay for Trump voters? It actually seems to be a goal for a lot of you.
