I am truly disappointed that Facepunch hasn't made a thread on this yet... I mean, it's an AMC show! You know... the station that brought you Breaking Bad, Mad Men, and at the end of month The Walking Dead? ----- Do you like shows with great acting and production? Do you like mysteries that aren't clichéd? Do you dislike when computers are inexplicable magical tools? Do you like shows that make you think? You will love this.
The series centers around an intelligence analyst at a national think tank called the American Policy Institute (API) who discovers that he may be working with members of a secret society that manipulates world events on a grand scale.
I won't lie, this show requires a little dedication. It's hard to sit down in front of this show for an hour, come away only with what's been handed to you on a silver platter, and still feel like you know what's going on. You will have to think. You will have to ponder. You will have to deal with lies, two-faced characters, and the general feelings of disorientation and unsatisfied curiosity that plagues the main character Will Travers. But you will come away with an enormous appreciation for the complexity of the story, and an endless hunger for just one more piece of information. The answers come slow. Sometimes they come in plain sight, sometimes not, and often they are hidden within other answers. Sometimes the answers only serve to raise more questions. But what's the fun in knowing everything there is to know in the story, especially one like this? How can there be a conspiracy without doubt? If any of this sounds even remotely interesting to you, PLEASE watch this Sunday's episode. There is a recap at the beginning of every episode that ensures you are never left completely in the dark, whether you're a diehard fan, a first-time watcher, or simply giving it a second chance. Believe me, while the pace is still slow, it has picked up drastically from the first few episodes. Actual things are happening. I won't spoil anything, but you should know that at this point, at least one character is under a very real conspiracy-related threat of death. Shit is about to go down. And several characters, as of the past two episodes, can now legitimately be described as "badass". I don't like many shows. In fact, I downright hate most shows. I find them boring, inane, predictable, and utterly pointless. But Rubicon is different. I love it. You might too. ----- Rubicon Offical Site - episode guides, weekly trivia quizzes, etc. Here's the wiki for it. I like this show a lot... good to see James Badge Dale in something after The Pacific. This latest episode was great.
This latest episode was so good. Revelation after revelation, yet still the mystery keeps getting more and more complex. These are the hallmarks of a conspiracy with legs. "Continue to celebrate our anniversary." I'm going to extrapolate like crazy here: What if "Tom Rhumor" is a manufactured identity, one that he created when he met Katherine, with the intent of exposing the Atlas conspiracy at a much later date? Bloom commented last episode that it was "interesting" she spelled it with an H. This, combined with his hidden letter and the curiously-worded "continue to celebrate our anniversary" will probably combine to lead to the name or location of another person or event. My off-the-wall guess is that their anniversary is in March. Take out the wayward "H" in Rhumor, and you get both Rumor and Marc. The day of the anniversary could be the year Tom changed his identity from Marc Something to Tom Rhumor. And it goes from there. Anyway, fantastic episode, loved Will's fight with Bloom. Everything was awesome.
I have a feeling some people might dislike the show because there's not a ton of action, or that it moves somewhat slowly, but I think it will really pay off in the last couple episodes.
I hope people actually read what I said and not blow it off outright. Sure, I got a little carried away typing all of that but this isn't an easy show to describe.
Interesting, might have a look
Any change we can actually know what it's about OP?
Did anyone see last Sundays episode? That was crazy. Bald guy is gonna win, I can feel it.
Latest episode was absolutely amazing. I can't believe how few people actually watch this.
Finale was a touch underwhelming but great nonetheless, I really hope AMC renews the show.
