So guys,
Basically I have already told a few of you this over steam but I thought I would release a public statement as well.
Saturday night I was at work [I work at a movie theater] and I had to close up the place, which involves cleaning everything for the next day. One of these things is the popcorn kettle, to clean this we have to put in two seperate buckets of water and bring them to a boil in the kettle, then dump them into a bucket and then dump that into a sink when we are done.
This was my job last night, the first bucket, into the kettle, boiled, and out into the sink. The second, into the kettle, boiled, and I carried to the back where the sink is, now, someone had decided to fill a mop bucket between these two times so there was soapy water on the floor near the sink. I along with the bucket of boiling water slipped on said spill on the tile floor and up goes the boiling water, down onto my arm. Immediately skin was falling off from my finger tips to my elbow, a gruesome sight. I got up as quickly as I could and ran to the dish washing sink and began to run water over my arm for about 5 minutes as the skin flaked and waved in the water running off my arm, some of the panels of torn skin were almost 5 inches long, 2.5-3 inches wide... Alnog with many other smaller tears between 1-2.5 inches around.
After about 5 minutes of this extreme pain I got a washcloth, dampened it with as much cool water as I could and I ran to the nearest person with a radio, told them as calmly as I could that I had an emergency and I need ed the managers to call 911. Apparently I was being way too calm because the girl I told thought I was joking and I had to tell her twice more. Finally I got the managers attention and we called 911, unfortunately my managers were under the impression that keeping my hand in water at that time was doing more harm than good, so I kept it out of the sink for about 5 minutes enduring the worst pain in my life, nearing tears the dispatcher told me to put it back under water, thank god, so I ran back to the sink until the paramedics arrived. Once they got there I got onto the stretcher cart thing and we were wheeled out to the ambulance, there they shot some morphine into me to kill the pain, it came back about 10 minutes later and I got another dose before they wheeled me out into the emergency room.
At this point I felt pretty home free with all the morphine I could ask for at my finger tips. That was until they started telling me about the "treatment" I was about to receive. They gave me another dose of morphine just for this "treatment" of theirs, they literally took scissors, and cut into my blistering skin, popping large sacs of liquid on my arm all over which had been growing the last 3 hours. My arm was already burning since they took the cool cloths off of it for the cutting of the flesh, so it was like a double whammy of super excruciating pain. She mercilessly cut my flesh apart and then when all the big pieces were off, she took a sponge and rubbed and scrubbed off even more, totally scraping over my open burns and tearing apart more of my flesh before my eyes.
Afterwards I got another shot of morphine and I was extremely exhausted, so I fell asleep for about 2 hours. My uncle and grandma arrive and took me home at around 6am. On the way home we got some food because I was starving, but at the sight of it I became sick, I took a few drinks of sprite, couldn't hold it in and puked it out at home. Decided I could wait till morning for some food, and after puking up the rest of the sprite I fell asleep.
So, now I am here with my gimp arm, and I can't really draw for shit in paint so my 2 matches are going to be declared dead for now. I don't think I will be picking them up any time soon.

Well I am not a greedy dick, I am just going to get my medical expenses paid and maybe some lost wages back. I'm more than content with that, I've got insurance through Regal so it should all be fine.

Oh god. That must be horrible. Seeing your skin fall off, seeing doctors rip 80% of your arm off, getting burned that badly... It already hurts bad enough if you put your finger on a toaster for a couple seconds when it's hot.

Yea, the doctor said it was like 9% of ALL my skin, its basically half of my arm up to my elbow.

Hah, yea I would have been crying myself dry when it happened, but there was a girl I like working there that night so that couldn't happen :P
I took some pics with my phone at the hostpital but they had the lights off most of the time so they look like shit and I can't figure out how to get them off my phone without a micro SD card. :/
Ouch man, i honestly feel sorry for you.
I guees it's been an unlucky feew says for the world as many people i know (including myself) have had terrible injuries of News given to them...
Hope you get better soon though.
Same Evil, my mate broke his toe, another dislocated his little finger - and then fractured it playing tennis, another did something to his ankle, another badly bruised his hand, like, REALLY badly. A few weeks ago I bruised my chest muscles, hurt to sneeze for two weeks :saddowns:
