This is absolutely stunning work. Could've easily been mistaken for a release trailer, had there been a full-blown "next-gen" remake. Super-impressed!

Oh! Turns out it WAS a release trailer, but not for a game - for Theophanys sequel to the Majora's Mask soundtrack he did a few years ago! http://www.terriblefate.com/
If you haven't heard of that, I highly recommend listening to it. It's really great.
Oh god. Just as disturbing as before. Such a good artist. Such good music.
Jesus that was incredible.
This was f**king amazing, top notch work to everyone involved with this video !
some of those scenes in the forest would fit perfectly for an ad in japan.
I'll never get over how easy it is to turn anything from this game into nightmare fuel.

the game kind of lends itself to it

So when can we have a Legend of Zelda movie?
So when can we have a Legend of Zelda movie?
Depends, When do you want Hollywood to ruin it for you?
I didn't like the narration, it wasn't bad but I don't think it fits Zelda.
I liked it very much, I think the voice fit the cartoony asian look he has to him.
I was hoping to see Link though... Also, I never knew Skull Kid's beak was a mask, or was it artistic liberty?

In twilight princess a skull kid doesn't have the beak, so possibly I guess.
Zelda lore (lol) is a dumb clusterfuck anyway.

That's how you do a fan movie. Finish it before Nintendo's lawyers can tell you to stop making it.
So why are fairies actual solid glowing balls? I thought that they were only represented such for simplicity's sake, to represent how small they are.

Artistic interpretation. I disagree with their interpretation, but there are a lot of ways you can interpret Majora's low-poly graphics. That's part of what makes it great imo

I think the orbs are simply made of magic, as a method of protection. It's basically a magical barrier that makes it so that you couldn't, lets say, kill them with physical means. The bubble is just so bright and 'solid' that it seems like they are an orb.

also, think of the Wiz of Oz too. She transported herself using a bubble.

Apparently I'm a professional on fairy magic
killing myself is the only way out at this point.
Depends, When do you want Hollywood to ruin it for you?
Fuck Hollywood. Look at this video. Look at Freddy Wong's stuff. Look at a shit ton of fan made videos these days. Great effects and CGI can be done without Hollywood and a bunch of market research fuckheads scrutinizing everything until it fits within their cookie cutter safe zone
Let actual fans with talent handle it, and we're golden

That's why I love Majora's Mask. The whole game revolves around a mask that has the power to turn whoever wears it into a crazed lunatic. Combine that with a trickster by heart and you get something powerful enough to crash the moon on the planet just because he can.
There are a few more things in the Legend of Zelda universe that are pretty horrifying, but Majora's Mask was an entire game centered around terrifying stuff.
Pretty fantastic video, although there are a couple of things that I personally would have done differently.
First, I would have had the fairies be more like balls of solid light, as opposed to these weird glowing organic balls. I can sort of see why they were designed that way given the art direction and the desire to HD-ify everything, but they're just very strange takes on the idea without any particular direction as to just why they're like that. I don't think their flight was animated very well, they didn't really have any sense of weightlessness.
Second was that I probably would have had Skull Kid attacking or in some way knocking out the Salesman and happening upon it, rather than the mask itself conspiring the events. I prefer the idea of the mask being more of a LotR Ring deal, with the Skull Kid playing with the power and thus suffering its effects rather than it forcing itself onto him.
But wow, that animation quality. I wonder how long it took to make this, with 13+ people working on it.
Majora's mask remake when? cmon Nintendo show us your not being complete assholes lately, we even got Sony to give us a FF7 remake.

Did you completely miss the 3ds version or what?

I only played the OoT 3DS remake, but it honestly wasn't all that amazing. I think a remake in the style of WWHD would be so so much cooler, but probably also harder to pull of with the N64 Zeldas, WW's art style must have made it wayyyy easier to remaster

The MM3D remake is very good if you don't mind a better sidequest tracker and a slightly more lenient timer
That was absolutely stunning, we're getting to the point where animated visuals such as the forest scene are indistinguishable from real life. Incredible.
Did you completely miss the 3ds version or what?
That's a remaster, not a remake.
If they decided to remake the game on the Switch as one of the basic line-ups for the new console I think that would have been quite the gamechanger.
Did you completely miss the 3ds version or what?
Yes.....yes i did, i've never had a 3DS also i want a Remake not a remaster........update the graphics and rework the game very minimally to bring it onto the Switch or something.
update the graphics and rework the game very minimally
but... that's what a remaster is?
a remake it redoing it all from the ground up
how can this have under 90000 views??
