Former Mexican President on Trump's Wall: "I'm not paying for that fucking wall"

Mexico City (AFP) - Former Mexican president Vicente Fox called Donald Trump "crazy" and used the F-word to lash out against the US presidential candidate's demand for Mexico to pay for a border wall.
"I am not going to pay for that f***ing wall. He should pay for it. He's got the money," Fox told Fusion in an excerpt of the interview on the US television network's website.
Trump quickly hit back on Twitter, writing: "Vicente Fox horribly used the F word when discussing the wall. He must apologize! If I did that there would be a uproar!"
Asked whether he was afraid that the front-runner for the Republican nomination could be the next US president, Fox said: "Not at all. Democracy cannot take crazy people that doesn't know what's going on in the world today."

But Fox, who was president from 2000 to 2006, admitted that he was worried about the fact that Trump won the backing of 46 percent of Hispanics who voted in the Republican caucus in the western state of Nevada.
"I'd like to know who those hispanics are because they again, they're followers of a false prophet," he said.
"Please, you Hispanics, Latinos in the US, open your eyes. It's not to defend our race. It's not to defend our creed. It's to defend this very same nation that is hosting you. This nation is going to fail if it goes into the hands of a crazy guy," Fox said.
Another former Mexican president, Felipe Calderon, also lashed out at Trump's wall idea this month.
"Mexican people, we are not going to pay any single cent for such a stupid wall. And it's going to be completely useless," Calderon, who was president from 2006-2012, told CNBC. "The first loser of such a policy would be the United States."
The current president of Mexico's administration also called the idea absurd, little more in the source.

I would not complain if tax money was used to build the wall
if Trump was indefinitely put on the other side of it

Let's just make it a small circle and save ourselves some money.
My opinion on the wall changed.
Illegal immigration and immigrants devalues legal immigration & immigrants. And at it's current state illegal immigration is pretty easy.
I'm all for better security at the boarders, but an unmonitored wall is just as easy to get over as an unmonitored fence.
I don't want Trump as Pres, but I don't think The Wall(tm) is the easiest thing to attack him for anymore. But latching onto the idea of King Trump building a barrier of toppled-over hotels makes a funny joke.

Mexican govt. officials probably hate the idea of The Wall solely because it would give cartels a harder time getting in, and by extent, less bribe money for themselves.
So much hate from delusional bernie sanders followers on fp because they are told its cool to vote bernie, like sheep to the slaughter on both sides, but at least trump is a wildcard that might pan out, either way american politics is corrupt, more so than uk politics, at least with uk politics there is slowly becoming a chance for a third party (ukip, snp)
There are ways to make people pay lol

or maybe they'd hate it because they don't want to be strong-armed into paying for american public projects
We really just need improved forms of security or some shit if our border protection is lacking. Trump's wall isn't gonna fix shit, it's only gonna cause more problems for us and relations with Mexico. They're our ally, I'd hate to see them drift away because of this wall. If Trump wasn't so adamant on that shit, and actually had a better plan for border security, then I'd have one less reason to despise the man, and I already have enough.
Why don't we just build watchtowers and outposts along the border and use drones to watch for any incoming individuals looking to illegally cross the borders and detain them?
I imagine that would be a lot more cheaper and not as useless as a wall.
How about we just bully Mexico into doing something productive, like, taxing all imports from them until they fix the cartel problem they have in their country.

This post makes no sense, I don't know who you're talking to or about. It literally has almost nothing to do with the thread.
American needs to not only build a wall but a moat like Tunisia did: http://www.ipsnews.net/2015/09/tunisia-digs-a-100-mile-moat-to-keep-refugees-at-bay/

I am sure if the UK can hand over 1.5 billion pounds to the EU against the peoples wishes last year because "fees" i am sure the big ol' USA can fork out the same for a wall.

Times Bernie has been mentioned in this thread before this post: 0
Seriously, nothing in this thread has even gotten close to being relevant to Bernie. How did you even come to the conclusion you should post this in this one

A small fenced pen where Trump can live with very humble means, and a small loan of a million dollars sitting in the corner.
It'd be like an art piece, and maybe he'd learn something. Maybe.
People really think Trump has the hispanic vote? You realize that like only 20% of Hispanics are Republican to begin with right?
we get more from those fees than a wall tho lmao
Yeah we get idiots like you pretending we got a good deal lol

Don't worry about it, that guy seems to post nothing but weird right-wing reactionary shit constantly since they reappeared. Reactionary bullshit isn't meant to make sense.

Yeah no, I'm not paying taxes for that wall. As an American citizen, I would happily pay more on taxes if it would benefit this country as a whole. Pay more on taxes for better healthcare, and even the possibility for universal healthcare that can help everyone in the United States who needs it? You betcha. Pay more on taxes for a better educational system, and ways to lower college tuition so it's not a burden to further your education due to the crippling debt from student loans you might have to take out? No problem! Pay more on taxes so my president can put up a wall, and from what it seems so far, only a wall, to keep out those darn immigrants? Hell no. I'd be okay with it if it at least tried to improve security, and actually counteract the problem, but it doesn't seem like that's on the drawing board as of yet.

Also a wildcard isn't really a good thing for a president to be, Idk about you but I want my leader stable and level headed.
Yeah we get idiots like you pretending we got a good deal lol
i said nothing about any deal, i said we get more than a wall which is an actual fact but i guess you just want to be a dick?
also the investment my region of the country (the north) gets from the EU sure helps cause the government surely doesnt give a fuck lol

Line it with mirrors so he will fall into a perpetual "damn I look good" cycle, which I'm pretty sure he thinks and does.
Of course they don't want a wall. The whole comment saying, "It's to protect the host nation!" well no fucking shit. It's to prevent the cartels from easily accessing our side of the border, it's to prevent vigilantes from going militia mode and killing innocent people, it's to prevent Mexican workers coming here illegally and being devalued to near slave wages while also causing problems for legal migrants.
I'm still for getting the currently illegal migrants and paying them proper wages to actually help build the wall, while also aiding them and their families in learning the mother tongue of this country - English. Those which are in support of not building proper border security, are fine with Mexicans being devalued to nothing short of $2/hr with no sign of improvement since the 80s', and continuing the violence in the border areas between militia groups and the cartels... I don't know what to tell you. At this current moment in time, I have yet to see a Democrat or Republican outside of Trump make a suggestion on what we can do regarding these problems or rather just sticking their heads in the sand and ignoring the problem entirely.
Most people are simply ignoring it because they are afraid of being seen as a big mean ol' racist and hurting relations with Mexico. With how the current situation is at the moment, all I can respond to that is that Mexico can either work with us or it'll be given a bittersweet reality check.
correct me if i'm wrong but wouldn't it be cheaper to put a monitored post every kilometre or so, and then a small fence before to slow them down?
correct me if i'm wrong but wouldn't it be cheaper to put a monitored post every kilometre or so, and then a small fence before to slow them down?
I'd see it as a better alternative. Wouldn't know exactly how much it'd cost to pay for the posts, and the manpower to run them, but if we absolutely had to go with either a wall or this option I'd go with this, because it's actually doing something. Not sure how much it'd stop, though.
Wait hold on I thought the wall was a metaphorical wall?
