https://ethstats.net Lots of infinity times on blocks for geth. Large part of the network is totally offline. I've seen some nodes trying to use 30+ gigs of ram From source/article.
Overcomplexity its success and now its demise? Is the overcomplexity of ethereum that its community hailed also its demise? its proving to be the case, the fix/patches are causing more unintended problems time after time since the ethereum fork due to the DAO hack. with a $250,000 a month in developers cost to “maintain” a smart-contract platform “database” that is usually not functioning 100%. users/holders having to constantly “update” “patch” and do certain technical requirements for a simple wallet or watch contract/watch coin. for a long-term holder it seems like a nightmare and stressful situation to deal with.

Its apparent that the ethereum “wars” is still ongoing since the DAO hack. The constant attack with little effort has proven effective numerous times. 0x3898d7580aa5b8ad8a56fcd7f7af690e97112419 – this address, previously used in the spam attack has been creating >1000 new contracts, currently at a rate of about 30/min.
TL;DR Ethereum is cryptocurrency but also world decentralized super computer (you spend ethereum and run code on ethereum nodes) Attackers spend 5000$ - 10000$ of Ethereum to launch current DoS attack (again), crashes Ethereum Geth nodes (full Ethereum node). Some nodes RAM were filled with 30GB, huge part of network was offline. DoS Attacks are happening for 2 weeks now. This means attacker has burned some pairs of 10k$ each DoS attack.
The DDoSers are just trying to keep the Geth from rebelling.
Might be worth putting what the hell Ethereum is in the TLDR, thought it was a game rather than a crypto currency. Edit: Cheers for short description!
DoS Attacks are happening for 2 weeks now. Many shady investors attempt to temporarily lower the value of coins so that they can buy in when it's low and sell when it inevitably rebounds. Who knows for sure, but that's probably the case here.

i remember when some weird guy came here and made a thread trying to hype it up saying it was like the next best thing in cryptocurrency lol
so how long before the FOSS community's circlejerk for blockchains dies cause i've kinda had enough of it
