Australian police are investigating whether officers ran naked round an unmarked police van as they travelled to a stag party.
The incident was reported by a woman who saw two men get out of the van at traffic lights in Brisbane on Sunday afternoon.
When police checked the licence plate number, they realised it was a police vehicle, Australian media reported.
The officers were said to be "very remorseful".
They were reportedly from the elite Special Emergency Response Team, used in situations involving explosives and hostage negotiation.
Commissioner Bob Atkinson said: "There is no excuse for this."
Queensland Police Union president Ian Leavers said that due to the nature of their jobs, the officers were usually on call 24 hours a day and did not usually drink alcohol.
"Their actions on Sunday are completely out of character and they are very remorseful," he was quoted by the Brisbane Times as saying.
Queensland Police Service ethical standards command is investigating the report.
The officers could be charged with wilful exposure and public nuisance, and face disciplinary action ranging from a caution to being fired.
Forget playing Wii, these cops know how to party.

No.
It's the naked truth people. Cops cannot be trusted.
:wtc:
I bet during pickup games they are on the Skins team.
These guys have saved people's lives in hostage situations and stopped bombs from exploding, let's ruin their careers and charge them with public indecency because of a dumb stag night celebration :downs:
Hmm... naked police officers? Fuck yeah! :fuckyou: . Do you know what they use as baton? :q: :cop:

I don't think they should be fired, maybe just a warning. They have a very important job, it'd be a shame to see them lose it over this.

I agree with this to a certain extent. They should be able to keep their jobs, but they should face punishment like any other person would if they got charged with public indecency.
Just because you do good things doesn't mean you should get away with doing bad/stupid things. Public indecency is pretty stupid anyway, they should get fined and that be the end of it.
Yeah they obviously shouldn't have their careers ruined over this, but they should be fined though, being badass and saving people from shit doesn't excuse them from the law.
Wow, guys. Your puns are really bad.

They're still supposed to set an example, not only that, but why would police officers get special consideration under the law?
If it's against the law, it's against the law.
You Aussies sure like the word "remorseful" don't you
On a serious note, I don't think they should be charged on the grounds that public indecency is a stupid crime.
Maybe instead of investigating the naked police officers they should ask them to put on some clothes.

They're role models, they can't be doing things like this.
But I don't think anything should be done to them beyond informing them not to get caught next time.
They were off-duty who cares.
