Baskin Robbins ain’t got nothing on New York City.
The ice cream shop boasts 31 flavors, but New York City’s got 31 genders.
As part of its non-discrimination policy, the city’s Commission on Human Rights released a list of different genders that businesses must accommodate or risk a six-figure fine, The Daily Caller is reporting.
I don't think it'll take off really.
Plus doesn't 31 genders seem really excessive?

shocking
Sorry,I'm a bit slow, what are you trying to say?
Obviously I'm not up to date on terminology because many of those seem like they're either repeating 2 or 3 times or completely unnecessary. Also I don't see strawberry cheesecake on that list so I think Baskin Robbins still has this one in the bag.
6. Female-to-Male
7. FTM
10. Male-To-Female
11. MTF
this list is pure bullshit for listing the same things twice under different names
Also, gender bender. :suicide:
Sorry,I'm a bit slow, what are you trying to say?
Wait you're saying the source is shit. Never mind
the list from fruxo's pdf
BI-GENDERED • CROSS-DRESSER • DRAG KING • DRAG QUEEN
FEMME QUEEN • FEMALE-TO-MALE • FTM • GENDER BENDER
GENDERQUEER • MALE-TO-FEMALE • MTF • NON-OP • HIJRA
PANGENDER • TRANSEXUAL/TRANSSEXUAL • TRANS PERSON
WOMAN • MAN • BUTCH • TWO-SPIRIT • TRANS • AGENDER
THIRD SEX • GENDER FLUID • NON-BINARY TRANSGENDER
ANDROGYNE • NON-BINARY TRANSGENDER WITH SPRINKLES • GENDER GIFTED • GENDER BLENDER • FEMME
PERSON OF TRANSGENDER EXPERIENCE • ANDROGYNOUS
I don't think it'll take off really.

Yeah, but people will get angry because they are too special and too unique to identify as genderfluid/genderqueer or basically "not really male but not really female".
How about just male and female?
How about just male and female?
And possibly "other"
this list is pure bullshit for listing the same things twice under different names

it should be obvious they're covering 31 recognized terms for legal indications, not listing 31 purely unique genders. There's a number of culturally specific terms too, including Hijra (a South Asian term basically recognizing MTF, but also often considered Hermaphroditic), and Two Spirit (Native American term for someone who essentially has gender dysphoria, often respected as a unique and gifted individual)
also guess how alarmist this was meant to sound in the first place, and how much only the first half will be quoted by more alarmists
Using the wrong pronoun when referring to an employee can result in a six-figure fine. But the city’s Human Rights Press secretary said the fines would not be levied if the wrong pronoun is used “accidentally,” only if they’re repeatedly used with malice.
aka "don't be a dick about it"

"I am a drag queen"
"You don't even have a car lady!"
But seriously now, I can agree with male to female or female to male stuff. There obviously are people who are the opposite gender more than they are what they are at the moment. But most of this stuff just sounds like you want to sound special. It makes no goddamn sense, and the fact that you might even have to explain it to someone just makes it even worse.
But sure, why not...
some of those terms are redundant
You're ignorance is showing, might want to cover that up before someone sees it.
That's not how genders work.
Yes, it is how gender works. There are two genders.
Baskin Robbins ain’t got nothing on New York City.
Yeah, but none of those genders are mint chocolate chip so I don't see how this applies?
And possibly "other"
That's literally the only classification beyond male and female that we need. The vast majority of people who identify as their birth gender see no difference between most of these tumblr genders.
I think the title is misleading. This isn't a list of genders - it's a combined list of genders (male and female), gender identities (bi-gendered, pangender, etc), and gender expressions (drag queen, butch, cross dresser, etc).
The latter two aren't considered actual genders, are they?
Call me insensitive but I think it's absolutely ridiculous to call yourself anything other than male or female. I leave an exception for transgender folks, but in the end they would be changing their gender to the opposite sex anyway.
Like, we are a binary sexed species. Short of medical reasons, I'm just not sure I can agree with having any labels other than male or female, regardless of what parts you start off with.
Gender is what you identify yourself as, sex is what you have between your legs.
Basically some people feel that they have a gender outside of the normal ones (I don't even know what that means), a combinations of genders, or a lack of gender.
You've gone your whole life without knowing that "normal genders" means male or female? Jeez.
NON-BINARY TRANSGENDER WITH SPRINKLES,PERSON OF TRANSGENDER EXPERIENCE
These sound like band names and are funny as shit.
I think the idea of alternative genders is incredibly silly but we should just let people do whatever they want as long as it doesn't cause any harm to anyone.
So I think we should have a M, F, and "other" as legal genders.
Yeah, that's absolutely reasonable.
Anything other than male and female seem to be bullshit as far as I have heard, though I may be able to change my mind. There is biological basis behind why people are transgender - they have a 'different' brain which results in gender dysphoria. Those who don't have genuine gender dysphoria are not identifying as different genders for biological reasons. There is nothing wrong with this per se: Feel free to dress how you want or personally identify how you want. But they shouldn't be official genders and people shouldn't be forced to endorse what you are doing and pretend that you have your own legitimate gender. Half of these don't even sound like genders in the first place.
You're ignorance is showing, might want to cover that up before someone sees it.
That's not how genders work.
That being said, a lot of this list is redundant. Like Lolkork said - a transsexual isn't going to call themselves a trans person because that kind of defeats the point.
your either born male or female.
your birth certificate is a definitive answer, and im pretty sure a new born doesn't instantly gage what sexuality/gender they are.
Get over yourself.

and this to a tee, honestly half of these just sound ridiculous. Some of them really sound like a joke that went too far.

There are two sexes, gender is seen as a social construct.
Who exactly is this list hurting? It's just covering every possible term for legal reasons, like if an employer was being discriminatory (with intent) the plaintiff could cite this list.

You think we should cover dragons just in case as well? That's the end result of your logic.
You can personally identify as a dragon if you want. The state doesn't need to ignore the scientific basis behind gender dysphoria (unlike other 'genders'!) pretend it is a legitimate gender.

What about intersex people?
What about intersex people?
Very, very rare exception that should be dealt with on a case by case basis.
