it depends because there are different variations. also not a few hundred feet tall, but a little under a hundred feet.
not available in my country get fucked
I've got an idea guys.
Lets limit our video to only one country. That's totally going to get us more views.

"Did we mention?...she's 5ft tall."
They need to give the narrators more than two footnotes.

She's a ninja alright.
"Shut the front door!"
snip
I miss the good ole days of Makoto Nagano tearing up the course.
Why are they acting like being 5 foot tall is a disadvantage? In almost all of these obstacles it's a big advantage
The ability to handle your own weight doesn't scale perfectly with height, shorter people can handle their own weight much more easily

because reach
if you watched the video you saw pretty clearly that she bumped into the reach issue, although she overcome it which makes it all the more impressive

Jumping on the Pole Grasp is a death sentence for your run, the fact that she managed to make the jump and NOT fall off is fucking inhuman,
And she was REALLY pushing it on the spider climb, and smaller and she probably couldn't touch both sides enough to climb.
there's hunderds of other professional female athletes we should be giving attention to. This is is not news worthy at all.

come on, this is just TV wankery and it's spreading on news sites as if it "finally" proved women aren't lesser to men
Even though Ninja Warrior sounds silly, its actually tough and prestigious if you do good on it. Hell the original Ninja Warrior has been around longer than a decade and its bigger in other countries, the US has this version but its more or less the same.
If you wanna see why this is a big deal, look at the top people in this list, almost all of them failed and only won due to getting the furthest and best time on the course http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sasuke_(TV_series)#SASUKE_1
I only counted 4 victorys, thats from 1997-2014
Plus the people doing this shit are professional athletes, its not like some gameshow like MXC.
I remember when this was on G4 and a majority of the candidates were Japanese with some Americans here and there. I think I had only saw 1 person actually beat all of the courses. Oh it was Nagano.
[editline]17th July 2014[/editline]
It was harder back then too because you had like 1 min 30 sec to complete the course. In here they just time your overall run instead.
Actually the first stage had a 1min 30 sec timer, the 2nd stage had 65 seconds, the 3rd stage didn't have a timer because of how grueling it was, and the last stage had 30 seconds.
