DD Meet-Up Discussion - General

[IMG]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4037422/fpsmcyy2.jpg[/IMG] [highlight]What do you mean DD meet-up?[/highlight] I am proposing some sort of meeting of Durgs Discussion members, similar to the UK Camping Meet-Up. [highlight]Where would it be held?[/highlight] Obviously, a lot of planning needs to go into this. Months of planning, if not more. Therefore, the place for it to be held has yet to be determined. By posting your location though, you can help us determine where it should be held. Right now, it's looking somewhere either in the mid-west or on the west coast. [highlight]What would it be?[/highlight] With no previous DD meet-ups being held, a camping trip would be easiest at this point, as it's relatively easy to set-up and take down and regulate. [highlight]What would the rules be like? etc[/highlight] You should probaly not attend if you are under 16, although I don't believe age should be a factor. I'm nearly 18 however and I know I am one of the youngest in DD, so that should not be a problem. Marijuana would definitely be allowed, anything more would be open to discussion. You would be responsible for your own stuff. You should not be leaving stuff lying around, or leaving your "items of interest" out in the open. It's easy for something to get knocked over or found by the wrong people. [highlight]When will this be held?[/highlight] That is another issue that is up for discussion. As it's too late to be held this summer, we have to decide on a time that will work for the most people. [highlight]Who will be organizing this?[/highlight] As I live in Canada, and I'm not the biggest regular on here, I will need help from others. If we're camping at a camp-site, someone local to the area would need to help organize this. [highlight]So what's the point of this thread?[/highlight] We need to plan the trip before we can post a thread saying "Here's the time and date. Post if you want to attend, post about how fun the trip is going to be, etc." [highlight]Feel free to post suggestions, questions, etc etc.[/highlight] P.S: Remember, this is just an idea at this point, nothing is set-up or planned. I am just posting this to get ideas and such. There is a lot of planning to be done, so don't expect a trip in the next month. We're all so spread out I think the only place a real meet up could happen is in the UK.

Driving across a few states is a LOT different from travelling to another continent.

Would British Columbia be too far for most of you guys? I just think it'd be an ideal place because of relaxed drug laws, great camping areas, and you can pick up amazing weed for cheap here. Then again, maybe that's me being selfish, although someone else also suggested it. It'd be a far drive for you people in the states, but I'm not sure how much you guys crave our BC Bud. :P (To give you an idea, $25 buys you 1/8th of good/high quality weed).

British Colombia would be a cross-country trip and then some for me.

BC has cheap good quality weed and excellent camping but I also understand it'd be really far for most people. Right now, somewhere mid-western like Iowa looks ideal. Perhaps even yellowstone national park or something.

Colorado, because it is in the middle of the U.S. and plus there's 5-6 DD'ers already in this state. Also the stoner capital of the U.S. is in Colorado, so yeah. And Colorado is also one of the most weed friendly states, probably cause everyone here smokes

My city of Victoria is the only city in Canada to have a riding with someone in the Green Party elected in, and one of their political platforms is legalization of marijuana.
