I wasn't sure where else this thread would go, really - basically I was wondering if it's possible to make it so the forum media tags could be used to embed WeGame videos?

WeGame support would make sense because it's for gaming videos, and this forums is heavily based on games (one in particular, obviously), making WeGame far more relevant than sites like Break or Metacafe.

That would be so absolutely exploitable. You could embed malicious flash (has been done), JS (could be done), Java (could be done) or any other malicious code.
But i do agree on the sound file thing.
WeGame and Xfire would be good.
