http://blog.twitch.tv/2015/11/monday-night-is-bob-ross-night/
Life is full of happy accidents. When we first discussed the idea of running an all-episodes marathon of “The Joy of Painting” with the Bob Ross folks, we weren’t entirely sure what would happen. We knew it would bring attention to Twitch Creative and give the internet some enjoyment and inspiration for a few days. We had no idea it would grow into the phenomenon we’ve seen it become. Bob has taught us a lot in the past few days, I think we can all say that. ... So, we pulled out all the stops and came up with a new plan. #KEEPBOB. From now on, Monday night is Bob Ross night. Every Monday, we will be running one season of The Joy of Painting on /bobross starting at 3pm PST and ending at 9:30pm PST. There are 31 seasons, so repeats will happen only once every seven months. Whether you’ve had a great Monday and want to celebrate with a familiar crowd, or your day has plain sucked and you want to be calmed by his soothing tones, Bob will always be there for you every Monday night without fail. The great people at Janson Media and Bob Ross Inc have been incredibly supportive. They’re as excited as we are to see Bob getting the recognition and attention he deserves. So, as a thanks, they are allowing Twitch broadcasters to re-stream these mini-marathons. You can paint right along with Bob, add commentary, and broadcast the result to your own channel. Time to add your own favorite color. Oh, and of course we’ll celebrate Bob’s birthday every year by running an all-episodes marathon starting on October 29th.
I'm fine with this; Ross has the amazing ability to make anyone calm as fuck.
Damn this is a pretty fine model they chose to do. Now i'm not actually gonna automatically hate mondays like everyone else.
That's awesome. Even if you aren't wanting to learn to paint or even into painting at all, it's still incredibly interesting watching his show and listening to his incredibly soothing voice. He made everything look so incredibly easy and he'd shit out some of the most amazing landscape paintings in no time at all with seemingly little effort while providing very detailed descriptions of exactly what he was doing. He really stuck to his "anyone can paint" motto, too. In one episode he received a letter from a fan who was very interested in painting, but couldn't seem to do it because he was completely color blind. So Bob spent an entire episode making a beautiful, cloudy mountain scene entirely in grey-scale, all the while explaining exactly how one can easily still make beautiful paintings without the use of anything but shades of grey.
I love bob ross so much. He's such a wonderful man.
I'm so glad. I watched very little of the original run and I wish I'd watched more.
This is amazing on everybody's parts. I grew up with Bob Ross on TV here in the UK as my grandad always loved him. I watched the channel religiously even with friends and it was an awesome community feeling :v: It's also the best thing to smoke to. Happy as fuck it's back #keepbob
This has be going on for a week now pretty excited to see it continue.
RUINED
The memes that have emerged from this wil never die. Now even more so because of the continued airing. GOd bless twitch. Where else would we be able to retrieve and view as a community one of television's greatest works. "beat the devil out of it" rip devil.
yeah cheers twitch cant wait to watch at 11pm on a monday
bob ross beating the devil out of his brush was the first thing i remember watching on tv.

Shame that they will take place when it's late night in the EU
Did he ever specify the exact quantity of shades you needed to have? :v:
IIRC i think it was roughly 50. :suicide:
Literally midnight for me. Ah well. Can't even be mad. I'd die of irony if I'd lose my cool over Bob Ross.
Did he ever specify the exact quantity of shades you needed to have? :v:
I think he more or less did. He ended up using quite a few but I couldn't watch the whole video because of my data cap, but it seemed like he did a pretty good job explaining what paints to use to create the shades needed to paint alongside him, which is more or less what he does every show.

fun fact, bob ross died the exact same year and day I was born. I am a reincarnation of bob ross.

I hereby award you the title of Big Ross.
This is good, isn't it?
I'm trying to cope with a few things right now and The Joy of Painting honestly helps a bit
This is good, isn't it?
If they didn't air it in the middle of the night for Europeans, it would be better.
I'm trying to cope with a few things right now and The Joy of Painting honestly helps a bit
So true. It's as good as meditation
Good news, they are airing it twice so Europeans can watch it at a reasonable time
From now on, each Bob Ross Monday marathon will be aired twice: Starting at 8am Pacific (5pm CET) and ending at 2:30pm Pacific (11:30pm CET) Starting at 4pm Pacific (1am CET Tuesday) and ending at 10:30pm Pacific (7:30am CET Tuesday)
https://www.reddit.com/r/Twitch/comments/3sghvy/keepbob_eu_edition/
