• Memory Partition thing Help

Gonna need a computer wizard for this.:science: Before some of you go retarded and call me computer illiterate, what I'm about to ask is advanced stuff, which even I as a computer literate would not understand. This computer I'm using has about more than 100gb of memory, maybe more. 50 of it is used in the windows partition, thing, the rest is used in linux. Note that it has linux because it used to belong to my dad. I want to know how I can take the memory partition thing from the linux and used it for windows. Please don't just say delete linux like a retard, explain at the very least how I delete it and claim the partition it took up.
Start -> right click computer, click manage. Go to disk management, right click the linux partition and either delete or format it. If you deleted it, you can then expand the windows one to fill the space. Of course this probably won't work if the partition is mounted so you might need a linux livecd to do it. This is basic stuff, not "advanced stuff, which even a computer literate would not understand".
This is really basic stuff bro. Delete the partition in Disk Management. It'll become unallocated space, then use your Windows CD or linux livecd to extend your Windows partition with the unallocated space. Also, we call 'memory' hard disk space. Memory = RAM.
Use GParted.

I deleted the partition and when I restarted the computer, it says grub loading, then partition missing, then grub rescue. I assume this is the part I need the XP cd? [editline]22nd December 2010[/editline] Ok, got back into windows, how do I extend the partition?

Right click on your windows partition and click "Extend". You will be able to add the unallocated space to your windows one.
That's a really odd way to get to Management... I just right-click the "Computer" icon from my desktop, and click on "Manage". Much faster.

If it were that simple, I wouldn't have asked that question.
You cannot modify the partition while it's in use. Use your windows disc or a linux livecd to extend the system partition. Alternatively you can format the unallocated space into a seperate partition for logical storage.
An explanation would nice.
Download ubuntu and burn it to a cd. Run it from the CD Modify your partitions.
Download ubuntu and burn it to a cd. Run it from the CD Modify your partitions.
Because clearly when you run a cd, "modify partition" is one of the first few option that appears, clear as crystal and sitting right there. I used the XP cd and I'm not sure if I should go to repair or setup for this. It's not much of an explanation if you cut it short.
