Chan, 62, the Hong Kong-born star of Hollywood movies such as "Kung Fu Panda," "The Karate Kid" and the "Rush Hour" franchise, will join documentary maker Frederick Wiseman, British film editor Anne V. Coates and casting director Lynn Stalmaster as recipients of the 2016 Governors Awards. Each will get an honorary Oscar statuette recognizing their lifetime contribution to film at a gala in Los Angeles in November. Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs in a statement called them all "true pioneers and legends in their crafts." too bad hes become kind of a mouthpiece for the chinese government otherwise hes done a lot
After all of the injuries he received from his own stunts and the time it took to perfect some scenes, he deserves it. Also, Other than the Panama Papers stuff where he hides his money in offshore accounts, I still kinda see him as my childhood hero.
He was involved in that shit? Meh, I see him too highly to care tbh. Enjoy the award Jackie
He's also a successful operatically trained vocalist.
Jackie Chan Adventures tv show is one of his finest achievements
Jackie Chan Adventures tv show is one of his finest achievements
at least the first three seasons. 4 & 5 made no sense and were just begging to die.
His speech is going to be interesting to say the least
too bad hes become kind of a mouthpiece for the chinese government otherwise hes done a lot
the Chinese people still hate him because his son got a slap on the wrist for smoking pot
I like him too much to look down on him for the Panama Papers...
a lot of celebrities are in on that whole debacle, as long as they put out good films i don't care. also, i wonder if this achievement award will cover his porn years.

iirc, back when he was a struggling actor in China he did some porno movies.
His what now?
he's not the only one, it was one of those early year things and is quite common, though definitely not as much today as it was then. arnold did it too.
he's not the only one, it was one of those early year things and is quite common, though definitely not as much today as it was then. arnold did it too.
Afaik Silvester Stallone and Arnold Schwartznegger also participated in porn flicks.
isn't that where Stallone got his nickname the Italian Stallion?
I remember an interview where he said out of everything he's done, he considers having his neck broken by Bruce Lee one of his greatest moments. [thumb]https://thatfightscene.files.wordpress.com/2015/02/grid-cell-13852-1390511300-6.jpg[/thumb]
