http://news.yahoo.com/male-circumcision-lowers-hiv-risk-women-forum-told-061658110.html Melbourne (AFP) - A campaign to promote male circumcision to prevent AIDS infection also indirectly benefits women by reducing their risk of contracting the HIV virus, according to a study presented at the world AIDS forum Friday. You don't know what you started
Not having HIV also lowers the risk Having protected sex does as well
I hear not having sex at all lowers the risk by 100%! Confirmed: browsing facepunch prevents hiv
Doesn't make it right to do it without someone's consent.
I am circumcised and seeing an uncut dick is fascinating to me. OT you shouldn't have sex with anyone who has HIV, its the Russian Roulette of sex. Cut dick or not its a worthless risk.
I hear not having sex at all lowers the risk by 100%! Confirmed: browsing facepunch prevents hiv
can't hiv spread through fluid transmission
can't hiv spread through fluid transmission
Stay inside and away from other people. Being a FP user prevents HIV confirmed 200%
can't hiv spread through fluid transmission
It's literally the way HIV works. Most HIV isn't even contracted through sex, in western countries it's when some junkie abandons his blood-tainted syringes to be used by others. In third world areas it's through being in the womb or breastfeeding.
can't hiv spread through fluid transmission
not if u pull out
Saliva and sweat too but it's very, very unlikely so you shouldn't worry too much about those transmission channels. [editline]3rd August 2014[/editline] merge :<
cutting your dick off and gluing a dildo on the stump will reduce HIV risks to the receiver dramatically get on it lads
how exactly does circumcision lower HIV risk?
cutting your dick off and gluing a dildo on the stump will reduce HIV risks to the receiver dramatically get on it lads
/mlp/ confirmed to reduce HIV risk by 450%
An earlier presentation at the Melbourne conference found that offering men compensation in the form of food vouchers worth around $9 or $15 (6.5 euros or 11 euros) was a useful incentive for circumcision.
We should do it like this in the west.
how exactly does circumcision lower HIV risk?

The protective effect from circumcision appears to lie in removal of cells in the foreskin which are especially vulnerable to penetration by HIV.
That's all the article says so who really knows?
That's all the article says so who really knows?

another issue raised was that circumcised men might think wrongly that they were fully shielded from HIV and ignore advice to wear a condom

There was also good news from the questions on sex behaviour: men were unlikely to engage in unprotected intercourse after being circumcised, he said.
Condoms are the devil.
Not having HIV also lowers the risk Having protected sex does as well also: Golly gee, let's all start banging. This is all well and dandy in countries with poor sanitation, but this can be hardly used to promote campaigns in developed nations
they didn't choose to have HIV :v: Are you victim blaming? or something? or am i going mad? and protected sex doesn't work all the time, this adds to lowering the risk with condoms (this isn't me agreeing with the article though, but assuming its correct then why not use both methods?) of course, circumcision should still be ONLY allowed if by choice of someone who is old enough by understand, this doesn't justify doing it otherwise at all for obvious reasons though it isn't going to help a women at all if you lob that foreskin off. They're fucked, physically and literally.
Condoms are the devil.
but... they don't call them the devil? unless Im' missing something, they're saying people are ignoring advice to wear condoms.
cutting your dick off and gluing a dildo on the stump will reduce HIV risks to the receiver dramatically get on it lads
Missing the entire point of circumcision, to a pretty ignorant point actually. it's so you don't get dick cheese and all nasty in there of course that EASILY doesn't happen if you wash, but washing isn't going to be as easy in poor countries as it would in countries full of clean water and soap. in the end though
also indirectly benefits women by reducing their risk of contracting the HIV virus
0/10 shit article. You cum into a vag and then HIV/AIDS happens.
Bogus.

It's nonsense made up by procircumcision people as another point to support it. If that were true, female circumcision would be as common as male circumcision if not more, because keeping a vagina clean is a little more complicated than keeping a penis clean.
cricumcison makes me REALLY MAD guys. it pisses me the fuck off. goddamn dicks gettin' me all upset.

The protective effect from circumcision appears to lie in removal of cells in the foreskin which are especially vulnerable to penetration by HIV.
That's all the article says so who really knows?
This doesn't make sense to me - HIV spreads through fluid transmission. Foreskin is not fluid.
I find it adorable that SH can get so pissed off about circumcision every time it's mentioned. It's actually worse than gun control or feminism.
cutting your dick off and gluing a dildo on the stump will reduce HIV risks to the receiver dramatically get on it lads
Putting pants on would be mighty difficult with a constant hard 12 inch wang.
Putting pants on would be mighty difficult with a constant hard 12 inch wang.
Pft I can manage it why couldn't you.
I find it adorable that SH can get so pissed off about circumcision every time it's mentioned. It's actually worse than gun control or feminism.
Presumably because like 90% of facepunch has a dick and is trying to justify that their own dick is normal, damn it.
this is absurd, we should all cut our dicks because in the event you were actually stupid enough to get HIV in a first world country in 2014, you're less likely to spread it? who are all these HIV infected nymphomaniacs who refuse to have protected sex?
Presumably because like 90% of facepunch has a dick and is trying to justify that their own dick is normal, damn it.
Honestly looking at uncircumcised penises makes me uncomfortable. They look like giant worms.
I am circumcised and I resent my parents for it honestly. Nasty scar and I have very little sensitivity down there. I've done a lot of research and it seems like I'm missing out on a lot. All because some doctor wanted to get some money which initially started as a way to show your dedicated to a God that I don't even believe in. Luckily parents today are being informed that it's bullshit.
Im guessing that the way they jumped to this conclusion is some kind of statistical link, but we all know that doesnt hold water. I guess I could derrive that being white and rich was the best way to stay clear of HIV if my approach was purely statistical.
