I'm not surprised No Russian is in it. With no context either, because of course.
I love the fallout footage of the man getting shot in the head then standing up like how rude.
Its like they took the worst examples thinking it was the best, I love the guy being stuck on the hook and it just clipping into him with no blood or anything :v:
Wheres doom? Where dead space? Even space marine was more graphic than those, its kind of laughable that the only -really- graphic game was sniper elite of all things.
Watched this video now I want to shoot guns

Dead Space doesn't support their narrative of video games causing violence, mostly because you're desperately surviving against weird grotesque alien zombies instead of shooting people (until 3 i guess, but those guys are literal religious terrorists which may not fly well regardless)
Same goes for most of your other examples.

you're implying they gave enough shits to understand what was happening in any of the games they did use

They could still use the really fucked up death scenes for Isaac, like the one with the Puker where [sp]His helmet gets ripped off, it vomits acid down his throat only for him to spend the next five seconds vomiting his liquified organs up before dropping dead, with his RIG flatlining.[/sp] or the one with the guy from the Dead Space 2 DLC getting his legs blown off by a grenade.

I mean, the two horror games they showed (and fallout 4 a bit) are basically the same as games like doom or dead space so I don't think there was much of a narrative reason to pick stuff that looks pretty bland compared to a lot of whats out there. If they want to show in your face and personal violence you don't get much better than dooms executions or battlefields for that matter, skewering someone with a bayonet would trigger a lot more than a horror movie character putting someone on a hook that doesn't show anything more than "POLICE" having a hook cleanly clip through it.

Fuck... this makes me... just... want to... I need to kill people!
No I don't. This is the dumbest shit in the world. Why are we going over this AGAIN after years of research and studies? It's violent video games, no it's guns, no it's TV, no it's music, no it's the system.
How about No, it's the white supremacist neo nazi who pulled the trigger?
I feel like they picked as many clips as they could that showed American citizens or soldiers being killed in some way, too

There was also a couple of them killing Nazis so at least that's something :v:

This makes me want to smack someone. Not because it's violent, but because all of these are contextless examples and No Russian just being shown without any background knowledge really really really really pisses me off.
That all looked like great fun
Because there aren't violent movies (ie Irreversible, Martyrs, A Serbian Film), violent TV Shows (ie The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Hannibal), or books (ie American Psycho, A Clockwork Orange, The Girl Next Door by Jack Ketchum)
The worst part about it is is that it ignores all nuance and context
It ignores when you're playing at American Patriot in the game killing Nazis
It ignores the fact that in some of these games you're playing the soldier and watching your allies die in a way that demonstrates how terrible war is above entertaining the violence of it
It doesn't even pay attention of the fact that this shit is all fiction and imaginary and it's not actually taken seriously at all
what films with serial killers and music that literally talks about killing
And this is all coming from a man who is admitted that his son plays and ' understands that it isn't real'
You're not adding any context or nuance to argument you're just trying to shit on something to divert blame towards something else, there's no reasoning with why you're doing it because why you're doing it is idiotic
The government should stay the fuck out of video games
This video is like the tape from The Ring. If you watch the gameplay within 7 days you'll have an uncontrollable urge to kill. Or not.
Funny it is for me when I hear government trying to blame video games for anything bad that happens. It happens A LOT here in Brazil, we even had Counter Strike series (some other games but cs mainly) banned from all national stores (you couldn't buy it from Steam either) for years. All this because media and government decided video games like that caused significant violence growth in our country. Funnier now that I'm hearing some similar story happening in the US.
Anyway, I can say that I play fps/'violent' games, like Doom, since I was 3 and I still have no desire to do any harm to any living thing in this planet. I can safely say I will never, in my life, do any thing remotely close to what video games I play show.
I'm saying something kinda obvious here: broken and bad people will be violent and will kill others no matter if violent video games, violent movies, videos, arts or songs exists.
You don't need huge intelligence to understand what the real sources of violence are, and it seems Trump and his government know this is all bullshit, but well, I think they gotta blame something
waait a second.
i'm not familiar with US law, uploading such a video, especially representing the white house ...
but shouldn't there be an "M for Mature" warning be shown first?
all these games have been rated, no?

I don't have any problem with violence in games, but what context does No Russian have that would make it seem less violent? I never played through MW2
I don't have any problem with violence in games, but what context does No Russian have that would make it seem less violent? I never played through MW2
It's meant to be as violent as humanly possible really
just in a way that gives it weight and makes it as serious as possible
What it isn't meant to do is glorify it, you're really just mowing down a crowd of people, nothing more.
Now I don't think it did it that well, but that was the big meaning behind it. It was meant to be controversial really.
Funnier now that I'm hearing some similar story happening in the US.
This isn't new, it's been happening since the original DOOM, probably before that. And that's just for video games, it's also happened for TV, movies, comic books, etc.. Basically if there's any way to blame something else instead of doing work to figure out and fix the real problem, people will.
There was even a huge outcry by some people over Harry Potter books being a problem.
This makes me want to kill people. In a video game, not in real life. I can't even yell at people without feeling bad, let alone want to hurt them.
I wonder what Dat360NoScope feels about the president watching his LPs

Oh, sorry. I did not know this isn't recent. Thought it was because never seen anyone mention before
The irony of it is that because of criticism, video games couldn't cover the same difficult subjects that other things can because you're the one playing it. Imagine trying to convince someone to convince people to develop an adaptation of A Clockwork Orange or the book version of American Psycho.
So compared to other forms of entertainment, video games are stunted.
