In the original Dark Souls, it was often safer to play as an undead character than one with their humanity restored. Other players couldn't invade you while playing as an undead. Not so in Dark Souls 2.

In worse news for Dark Souls players who spent much of their adventure as an undead, From Software is adding another punishment: Dying consecutively as an undead will now cause your maximum hit points to deplete. The more you die, the smaller your life bar. That can be reversed by restoring your human form by consuming an item called a Human Effigy.
Can you handle this?
no
the more you respawn in hollowed form, the less health you have? jesus christ now there's no avoiding invasions
muhahahaha low level dick wraiths will ruin your day.
I think I'll just skip this one. I probably wouldn't have even gotten anywhere at all before rage quitting in the first one without that cheap dragon tail sword.
Dark Souls was like a spanking compared to this, I'm guessing. Will they go whole fist? Let's hope so.
just release a special dark souls controller that tasers you every time you die
Well that is the weirdest fucking analogy I've ever made... [editline]18th September 2013[/editline] autoooomergeeee
Dark Souls was like a spanking compared to this, I'm guessing. Will they go whole fist? Let's hope so.
Demon's Souls was fisting, Dark Souls was a hard spanking. Dark Souls II is shaping up to be a double fisting
Fuck. I mean hell, I like dark souls and all, but sometimes I just want to play with out worrying about whether or not some fuck is going to invade me for shits and giggles. I do really hope they change how summoning works though. I'd like to be able to summon my buddy once and have him stick around, or for them to just flat out add coop.
Demon's Souls was fisting, Dark Souls was a hard spanking. Dark Souls II is shaping up to be a double fisting
And they're not going to use any holes that were there when they started.
muhahahaha low level dick wraiths will ruin your day.
They're no match for my dashboard button :v:
Demon's Souls was fisting, Dark Souls was a hard spanking. Dark Souls II is shaping up to be a double fisting
In Dark Souls III they just pry open your butthole and climb on in.
oh shit so much information aaaaa
Wow I really can't wait for this. DaS2 sounds like its mixing elements from DeS and DaS together to create the greatest thing ever.
Wow I really can't wait for this. DaS2 sounds like its mixing elements from DeS and DaS together to create the greatest thing ever.
I kept saying Dark and Soul, and Demon end Soul in my head :U
They're no match for my dashboard button :v:
hey man don't be a baby and quit when someone invades you it's not like you lose everything when you die, just some humanity
As long as humanity is more common. Cause that shit wouldn't work in DS1.
As long as humanity is more common. Cause that shit wouldn't work in DS1.
there IS NO humanity
I don't really like the idea that I can never even walk away from my game without fear of getting killed and having my stuff stolen. It was nice to at least make the online stuff optional in the last game. This sounds like a bit much.
there IS NO humanity
How does it work then?
How does it work then?
i dunno apparently some item called a human effigy is used to become human. nothing known beyond that i think
Welp, didn't really play that far through the first Dark Souls because everyone hyped up the difficulty to the point where I was too afraid to take the risks needed to progress. If Dark Souls 2 is actually forcing me to deal with invasions then it can definitely go fuck itself. I am shit at PvP and I want nothing to do with it.
The constant looming threat of invasions is going to seriously freak me. I wonder if there are going to be safe haven areas or something.

Great thing about this is it will pull a few more guys like you who aren't good at pvp into the experience. If they do this though they really do need to make online more secure than it is at the minute.
So, I got an idea, I got this ear-rapingly loud whistle that I blew every time my friend died, it drove him insane, how about they include that into the game? where you can't mute it at all. Also, this is going to suck for me, I suck at Dark Souls 1.
The constant looming threat of invasions is going to seriously freak me. But god damn my heart rate goes up like fuck knowing that some asshole just got into my game with the sole intention of shitting on my day.
I thought it was supposed to be more casual or something But then again I'm refering to this video
i dunno apparently some item called a human effigy is used to become human. nothing known beyond that i think
No, human effigy is used to restore max hp. Like how purging stone works.

Just wait for the invader, bow and do your best. If you die, well at least you can reclaim what you dropped. The only time it gets bad is when the invader is a cheater and/or someone who terribly lags. Constant lagstabs are the worst.
