If the euro falls, we should also consider the introduction of a Nordic currency, like Gunnar Wetterberg, socio-political head of the academic union Saco. If the EU is moving towards becoming a federal state with a single government so it could be a good option for Sweden and other Nordic countries to form a Nordic federal state. It would also be common to assert that free trade and openness as the Nordic countries always stood for and fight against the protectionist forces that exist in many other European countries. It considers Gunnar Wetterberg in a debate article in Dagens Nyheter on Tuesday. He also thinks that the Nordic countries should consider whether it might be time to introduce a common Nordic currency, perhaps with the name of dollars, if the current euro zone will be dissolved. Social critic and historian Gunnar Wetterberg has previously been on similar tanks and two years ago he took up a proposal for the formation of a new Kalmar Union. According to Gunnar Wetterberg received the proposal warmly received and he refers to the polls where over 40 per cent in the different Nordic countries indicated that they were very or fairly positive towards the idea of a new Kalmar Union. That thought comes up again is a direct consequence of the profound crisis that mainly the euro countries are in the middle in. It may end up in everything from the Euro-operation in its current form is dissolved into the EU is moving in a more federal direction. In both cases, a closer Nordic cooperation be current, according to Gunnar Wetterberg. He also argues that a united Scandinavia would have a stronger economic base than the Nordic countries are now in order. This is partly due to the economy of the Nordic countries differ so much. If a country suffers a crisis, chances are that something else is better and can help. Gunnar Wetterberg compare from this perspective, the Nordic countries with the USA where there are large differences between provinces. But since it is a country with a common government and the federal budget, you can also equalize, manage temporary slumps when they occur at different places and it is easier for residents to move between different places in the country. Gunnar Wetterberg note that a change would require many years of investigation, negotiation and referendums before a Nordic federal or the introduction of a common Nordic currency can become a reality. Fucking badass. We shall dine in the halls of Valhalla!
Who the fuck invited Iceland to our money party?! Either way, 1000 vikings would be way more badass then the dickslapping 50 ears and 20 crowns I have in my wallet at the moment.

Still, changing currency over sounds like a pain. I've finally gotten used to DKK here.
Well it's that or paying with bacon and mead.

Not to mention, Sweden and Denmark is rather good placed on that list.
I don't really think Finland would really deserve to trade in "vikings" considering in the viking times we were a bunch of depressed farmers who didn't do shit To be fair that's what we still are minus the farmer part
When oil isn't sufficient anymore they will also take arms and plunder england.
Interestingly, only 4% of the oil-fund is spent yearly in this country. The rest is saved for future economic disasters or similar. And to prevent inflation from killing it, it's invested in safe stocks. Quite brilliant. So we're just building a huge pile of surplus, like Uncle Scrooge, but spending a very small amount of it.
I've always thought this would be a much better idea than staying in EU. Who would also choose the Euro while so many lands in EU are having a really unstable economy?
And what, exactly, will they plunder from England? Bland food?
And what, exactly, will they plunder from England? Bland food?
Their bad weather and teeth. Yes.
And what, exactly, will they plunder from England? Bland food?
Lance's mum.
Lance's mum.
They sure as hell aren't getting any Dosh.
Imagine buying something for a 1000 vikings
Imagine buying something for a 1000 vikings
Oh yeah motherfuckers, I want this currency!
Scandanavia is so cool I want to live there
If the Euro fails there could be a new local currency? Ingenius!
As someone who lives in the United States, I can't imagine what it must be like to be able to travel twenty miles only to have to switch to a different currency. It sounds to me like nobody uses the Euro for small, live transactions. Am I wrong?

I am all for this actually. Sounds like a decent idea.

Holy fuck, paying with vikings sounds fucking awesome.
we in norway are not a god damn part of the EU, we aint changing shit
I really, really, really want a viking currency!
I don't see why Norway would want to be part of anything like this.
I don't see why Norway would want to be part of anything like this.
Aye, I propose no union - rather, re-naming the Norwegian, Swedish and Danish kroner to the Danish, Swedish and Norwegian viking.
