Why watch the PlayStation E3 Press Conference on a puny browser window when you can see it on the silver screen? On June 9th, we’re inviting PlayStation fans in the US and Canada to experience the E3 press conference in a new way — live, on a massive screen in more than 40 movie theaters.
source
There's one 20 minutes away from my house, but nah. I don't really see the point when I can just sit at home and experience the same thing while shitposting on Facepunch about it.
Well at least Canada has 3 theaters.. But the Toronto one seems to be 'Sold-out' :/
Not a single one in my state. F-fine, Sony, i-it's not like I even wanted to watch it anyway! At least it's free. I would've called this outright stupid if they were charging money to come watch half an hour of literal ads. I never watch E3 presentations without a chat window or two on the side so I can laugh about it with friends. Though no conference will ever beat Konami's 2010 presentation. I'm SO glad I watched that with friends, holy shit.
The streams are no fun without a fast moving, shitpost filled Twitch chat, though.
Damn, I wish I still lived just outside Pittsburgh
Damn the local one is sold out. That's a shame.
I'm having all my friends over to watch E3 together, makes me feel like a sports fan pumped for ~the big game~ except in this case the big game is a series of awkward press conferences
The streams are no fun without a fast moving, shitpost filled Twitch chat, though.
without the denizens of /v/ all crammed into a chatbox on the side of the screen, E3 is painful
Bit of an odd thing to do but there's certainly something to be said for the social experience of E3. Even here on Facepunch last year's E3 was a total blast (especially with the EA and Sony conferences) and the mile-a-minute posting in the megathread. Looking forward to reprising it this year.
I got tickets to the showing near me just because it's something weird to do. They're also handing out some free shit at a free event, so there's no reason not to.
There's one 5 minutes from my house, but it's sold out. Would have been fun to go and simulate being at the conference.
Do people not own smart phones? I'm pretty sure you could use them to view chats.
I'm going because it's free, and they'll be handing out merch afterwards. I think free stuff is worth missing one of the shows livestream chats.
Also I'm wondering how it will look on the big screen. Do they usually stream in 1080P?
Fuck; I don't want to drive all the way to Miami
Also I'm wondering how it will look on the big screen. Do they usually stream in 1080P?
Streamed in 144p, with pixels larger than your head on an IMAX screen is the only way to truly enjoy e3
Cramming into a packed movie theater with a bunch of gamerz to watch "cinematic" trailers of games that won't even resemble the final product and a few awkward press conferences is not my idea of a good time.
