We’re hearing the buy could be worth as much as $50 million. It was struck very late Saturday night L.A. time after lengthy negotiations that went through the night and comes after Fabrica de Cine closed a deal with Paramount at week’s end to finance the film. That’s similar to the structure set last year at Cannes for Scorsese’s Silence — to the tune of some $100 million. Paramount will retain domestic on the picture, which hopes to reunite Scorsese with Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Harvey Keitel, as well as to team Al Pacino with Scorsese for the first time in their storied careers.
We're literally two steps from the production, I never thought I'd see this project becoming reality. What a fucking cast. De Niro? Pacino? Fuck yes. Pesci is icing on the cake but fucking Harvey Keitel too?!!?! WINSTON WOLFE HIMSELF!? I came.
That's a very cast heavy movie
Wow, I thought that Pesci was fucking dead. Can't believe that any of them are still alive, they are in their seventies after all.
Oh thank god, Scorsese is finally coming back to save De Niro from all the shitty films he has been doing and bringing Pesci out of retirement
Hey Harvey Keitel can now stop doing insurance adverts!
Wow, I thought that Pesci was fucking dead. Can't believe that any of them are still alive, they are in their seventies after all.
Pesci was resurrected just for this movie. They returned him to the underworld when they finished filming his parts
holy shit holy fucking shit hold me
FUCKING YES M8
holy shit holy fucking shit hold me
fucking first 10 seconds of this video:
I really want to see this movie. I hope ray liotta makes a cameo
I wouldn't be surprised if this film is Scorsese's last full feature film. He's getting on in years, and returning to a more traditional mob movie with all the Big Scorsassa actors could well be a swansong thing

Who else could do The Devil in the White City properly?

Unless he noticeably deteriorates, I think we'll see Scorsese for at least another 10 years. The brain of that man goes into no bounds.

copolla is still there, his dvd commentary are amazing, and tetro was nice. but ye apocalypse now tore him apart.
ennio morricone (scored hateful eight and the good the bad and the ugly) is 87, age isn't a deciding factor of genius.
Fair enough, but a lot of people that age don't smoke as many cigarettes as Scorsazza
I'm curious, where are you getting the impression that he's a chain smoker? I googled it, and the closest thing I came up with was this: [t]http://thestudioexec.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/marty.jpg[/t]
Fair enough, but a lot of people that age don't smoke as many cigarettes as Scorsazza
back in the day he was a loose cannon but now he meditates apparently
but ye apocalypse now tore him apart.
How do you mean? I don't really know Coppola's history and I'm curious what you mean by this...
Pesci was resurrected just for this movie. They returned him to the underworld when they finished filming his parts
Yeah, I haven't seen him any for a very long time, I thought he was dead.

He and Keifer Sutherland both said that Scorsazza played it real fast and loose in his heyday. Obviously they could be lying, but they don't really have any reason to
oh boy another mob film how exciting
Robert De Niro in a non-comedy film? Finally!
How do you mean? I don't really know Coppola's history and I'm curious what you mean by this...
Apocalypse Now is known for being the hardest film to make, with actors randomly having heart attacks, throwing sissy fits, sets being destroyed in a fire and hurricanes, and Coppola himself called making it a true Vietnam, going nearly broke and homeless just to make it. There's a great documentary about it, go see it.

Those 4 guys make like the most classic Scorsese cast you could possibly ask for. Except for Pacino actually. Was he ever in a Scorsese movie before?
Those 4 guys make like the most classic Scorsese cast you could possibly ask for. Except for Pacino actually. Was he ever in a Scorsese movie before?
Nope, it would be their first collaboration. Surprisingly, because Pacino is as much "70s" and "gangster" as it can get.
How do you mean? I don't really know Coppola's history and I'm curious what you mean by this...
the production of apocalypse now was clearly a mindbending ordeal. As a director to deal with that amount of struggle is going to break him up a little bit. He did make a couple of nice films after this but coppola never really did movies that took a grand level of ambition. He says he prefers now more personal and small independent films. Very obviously the opposite style to the making of apocalypse now. You can learn about it if you watch the documentary: Hearts of Darkness
Probably not. I know he had a coke addiction that nearly killed him, who knows what else he did in the 80s
But everyone did coke in the 80's
