Right before Walt Disney Died, He had a Massive Plan to make a City that showcased the world of tomorrow, While being part of a massive theme park. That Plan Was EPCOT (AKA Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow)
This video showcases how Walt Originally thought up EPCOT, but he died right before this idea was set into motion. This caused EPCOT to be turned into a Condensed Non-Residential version of what it was originally going to be.

It's really fun to read up/watch videos on Disney world history, Walt Disney was essentially going to make something out of bioshock (but without all that plasmid/rioting shit).
Holy shit this all looks familiar. Reminds me of Howard Stark in Iron Man 2.

Damn! That would've been exactly what Project Venus and the Arcosante Project have been trying to achieve for the past 30 years!!
If you don't know what those are, look them up, you'll see a whole new world of sustainable architecture and structural living, it's truly fabulous and the way we need to live in the future.

hah, if you go to the stark expo site, it plays a song that sounds like something youll hear at the gates of a disney theme park.

i didn't even know Walt Disney wanted to make a utopian place, it's cool
he's strikes me as a true visionary now 'cause he made this great college too: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_Institute_of_the_Arts
then it turned into a small attraction at Disneyland with Kinect games and a touchscreen tabletop.
I went there once, it was kinda sad except for the microsoft surface table.
epcot has a better showoff of tech tbh. not to mention epcot has a coca cola world showcase where you can taste soda from all over the world.
everyone elses soda sucks except for the ginger ale, the japan one, and orange mexico soda.
When I went to Disney World, EPCOT was actually my favorite of the parks. All the others were "Rush around and get in line to ride or see something." EPCOT was "Stroll around at your own pace, and see the neat showcases and experience good music and good food with your friends and family."

You might be interested to know that Milton Hershey was similar. His chocolate company built the city of Hershey, Pennsylvania, and he built a theme park in the area for the workers, and he was very philanthropic, helping to build many fine schools and hospitals. It had a powerful infrastructure of trolly cars, similar to how Disney envisioned monorail systems. From what I understand, it's still a great city.

thats the exact reason i like epcot too. it's more like a giant interactive museum of fun than a simple theme park.
i love the attention that is used for all the disney parks, i honestly think the theme park is one giant experience then just one small ride after another. Instead of the usual theme parks universal or six flags tries to make. Universals theme park feels like it tries to copy it but it doesn't have the charm most of the time (I think the only time it did was when i was in the Men in black ride)

Funny enough, the World of Coke in Atlanta where Coca Cola is made and produced has an entire museum dedicated to Coke products. They even have an entire wide room dedicated for visitors to try every Coke product produced all over the world. Never ever try the Beverly from Italy, it's awful.
