With some higher powered engines this thing could be cool as tits
With some higher powered engines this thing could be cool as tits
it looked dangerous enough as it is, I think adding more powerful engines would turn it into an uncontrollable death machine
I was actually really surprised to see it be as stable as it was, when he was making it I was seriously doubting it would be stable enough not to flip over and take off an arm / leg / cameraman.
I think if he had some sort of electronic leveling like a quadcopter it would be quite controllable.
There's a guy in Australia that's developing a hoverbike. I think DARPA is working on one as well.
I think if he had some sort of electronic leveling like a quadcopter it would be quite controllable.
Keep in mind that the electronic levelling could only take care of pitch, roll and yaw are entirely controlled by him shifting weight as the propellers don't appear to have any ability to tilt.
That thing looks as dangerous as that UT2004 vehicle.

If one edge ended up getting higher than the other edge, it would have less of a cushion and would stabilize itself.
i don't think this is really a hovercraft
Because it lacks a skirt?
Because it lacks a skirt?
at first i thought ground effect (not sure if this is the correct term) might be negligible, but i'm not too sure now. i was kinda doubting the air cushion's effectiveness due to a lack of a skirt yes, but then i remembered how rc helicopters fly when they're low on battery
Christ, I was nervous just watching
I think for a pet project, he did a great job. He inspires me to make my own little workshop and work on shit like this. I think over summer, I'm going to ask uni if I can use their workshops so I can work on my own small projects.
