I have always been interested in movies that have minimal actors and really seem to focus on the acting and storyline more then anything. Moon and 127 hours might be some of my favorites of all time and I was wondering if you guys know any other movies like it. For those who have not seen the movies I'll post a picture and IMDB link. 12 Angry Men and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? both have few actors and like, one setting for the whole movie and are very good movies. Both are adapted from plays so that makes sense.
i think Submarino had a really small cast now that i think about it
I feel like I should mention Wes Anderson's movies but I feel like that's not what you're looking for.
actually Submarino is more of a character drama i'm not sure if that's what you're looking for
Sunshine, Gerry, Last Days, (if you like Gerry and Last Days check out Elephant, all three are by Gus Van Sant), Buried, Pontypool
Didn't Daft Punk make a remake of Gerry where they pretty much just walked in a desert for 90 minutes?
I think this has been mentioned but Buried. Its a pretty well done. The ENTIRE movie takes place within the coffin and only has one visible actor in the movie.
It isn't really a remake, they have two completely different plots. iirc Daft Punks follows two robots trying to become human. If it's the one I'm thinking of, it was also shot to look like one of the video cameras from the 90s timecode and all.
http://www.thetunnelmovie.net/ interesting indie movie that I saw a few days ago, it free to watch.
Titanic II On the 100th anniversary of the original voyage, a modern luxury liner christened "Titanic 2," follows the path of its namesake. But when a tsunami hurls an ice berg into the new ship's path, the passengers and crew must fight to avoid a similar fate. It's a truly amazing story with amazing characters, story, and effects.
The Thing is a classic horror but it has a strong claustrophobic theme like Moon, 127 hours and Buried
i have to agree, i honestly expected to be disappointed, but midway through the movie and the ending just made me wish more people would encourage this movie more
Yeah and its extremely innovative Just wow, my heart was beating so fast at that suspense
Thanks for all the suggestions thus far. Checking out a few of them at the moment, going to add a few to my queue on Netflix.

2001 has a pretty small cast and everything about it is fantastic.
2001 has a pretty small cast and everything about it is fantastic.
If you have the attention span for it anyway, I've only seen it all the way through once, and as good as it was, I can't get myself to sit through it again.

You could always drop acid beforehand and skip to the part where [sp]the other astronaut is killed, in anticipation for the space baby[/sp]
Source Code is a good film and directed by Duncan Jones, who did Moon. It may not be out on DVD yet but is worth a look if you are interested in that kind of thing.
Buried is what you want to see....... The ending....it made me tear up
I want to say Phonebooth
Silent Running
Primer
Primer
Was about to come here and say it. The film is basically two actors.
cool runnings is a lot like moon
Independence Day is a character driven movie with minimal special effects and an amazing story, not for the fainthearted though!
Into The Wild is kind of lonely.
Primer
I can't recommend this film enough.
Into The Wild is seconded from here. Sublime acting.
A couple I've seen recently: Solaris(2002) Last Night(1998)
