• The place where one day 350 people worked, then nothing

Thamesteel, in Sheerness, Kent was a steel foundry until January 2012. The owners of the plant went into administration and workers came to work to be told that they no longer had a job. Nothing has happened here since that day, everything lays exactly as it was, just with a layer of dust covering every last bit of history which was left behind. Another victim of Britain's lack of support for industry. that last picture is very nice it's pretty cool you guys still do this. I always like seeing pictures from them, as there isn't really anything abandoned near me.

Britain probably doesn't support industry as they are a ecofagish country.
What a fucking waste of resources.
Britain probably doesn't support industry as they are a ecofagish country.
nah it was to do with Mrs T killing all the industry and mines in the 80s and making everyone work in a fucking call centre, the only real industry left is the military industrial complex (and the only real big player is BAE).
What a fucking waste of resources.
Very agree
I had a ROF site literally 2 minutes walk from where I live close down some years ago. I wish I had snuck in the past year as they've only just started demolishing the buildings. There were underground bunkers and factory's everywhere. However it was still very heavily guarded by BAE, and still is oddly. There's all sorts of rumours about there being underground government bunkers here lol

As such, it was probably part of the Conservative/ coalition (let's face it, the Lib Dems do fuck all) budget cuts.
