The South China Morning Post quoted "credible sources" as saying he was due to arrive in Moscow on Sunday evening.
It said Moscow would not be his final destination.
Snowden, an intelligence analyst, fled to Hong Kong in May after revealing details of extensive internet and phone surveillance by the US National Security Agency (NSA).
The development will be seen as a major blow to US efforts to have him extradited, says the BBC's John Sudworth in Hong Kong.

He has been charged in the US with theft of government property, unauthorised communication of national defence information and wilful communication of classified communications intelligence.
Each of the charges carries a maximum 10-year prison sentence. The complaint is dated 14 June although it was made public only on Friday.
Obama isn't going to have an awesome morning.
Won't putin enjoy talking to him...
Hope he gets there ok
That's not very good for his cause in my opinion.
"I'm leaking government secrets and I'm fleeing to Russia"
dirty commie spy, threatening our freed-
oh wait what do i care
oh shit you mean right next door
oh shit i do care :v:
Well no shit, Putin's spokesperson basically invited him.
he was a communist spy all along

Well maybe he should go somewhere like a westernized country that is buddy buddy with the United- hey wait, that's a terrible idea! They want his ass, he has to keep moving. and remember being a "bad guy" is always relative!

Well seeing as his two choices are: disappear as a free man or disappear by being locked up, I think this is very good for his cause.
I wonder if any news of his movement is even credible. How do they know? This isn't the kind of thing you'd think he'd just tell people.
Though I suppose the US Gov't probably has agents on his trail anyway, so it's not like it matters much if the whole world knows what he's doing.
Good thing he got out of Hong Kong, too. They have an extradition treaty with the United States government.
Dammit. The weekend I get to Hong Kong he leaves. I saw his pics all over the streets. I wanted to hang with this guy.
Escaping the hands of American Tyranny by fleeing to Moscow. Maybe he'll make it to Iceland.

"I'm leaking government secrets and I'm fleeing to Russia"
the fact that people would look at it like that is disturbing
guy reveals that the US government is lying (and then lies more when they're caught lying) and is destroying our rights as americans and of course certain news groups manage to find ways to make it seem bad and to completely distract from the actual issue of the government lying and bypassing the constitution LEGALLY and the news groups get people to worry about what he liked in high school
it's disgusting and depressing

Well it's that or die by the hands of the government in a cold dark cell in the middle of nowhere by the hands of your ex-employers while the masses do nothing but post about how awful everything is on the internet.
Keep thinking these titles are about Mount Snowdon. I think for a second how the fuck is a mountain causing so much dispute. This is what exams do to your brain
According to Al-Jazeera, he is on this very flight right now.

I feel like it's a bad idea for all this information to be broadcasted the moment it happens. I really haven't understood how Snowden lets information like this get out so quickly, if it were me I would wait until at least a few days after I have arrived and settled in.
God Speed, you magnificant bastard.

As if there would be anything to debate over and they wouldn't just lock him up and throw away the key.
They should start selling Snowden World Tour shirts very soon.

It makes a great deal of sense for him to be public of his movements. Makes it less likely he'll mysteriously vanish at some point.

Or books like "Where's Eddy?"

Heading to Cuba apparently

To be honest:
Those happenings are reminding me about every movie about US intelligence services.
Even Snowden is looking a bit like one of these computer guys in those movies.
just fucking go to venezuela, Snowden. Nobody, as in, nobody will try to deport your ass over there.
He's touring the world's leading democracies apparently.

The downside being you have to live in Venezuela.

At-least Cuba is somewhat nice nowadays.
