Confectionary tycoon Petro Poroshenko has won an outright victory in Ukraine's presidential election, exit polls indicate.
They suggest the businessman - known as the "chocolate king" - won more than 55% of votes in Sunday's first round.
They suggest former PM Yulia Tymoshenko came a distant second. There were 18 candidates on the ballot, seen as a crucial moment to unite the country.
Good, they have a legitimate president but he is an oligarch.

He's Russia's version of RAYHALO.
At least it's not Timoshenko, I guess

What other choices were there except the two? Well, I guess a CEO president knows how to run an economy at the very least.
Russia will probably say this was an illegitimate election. :v:

Putin said he will recognize it as legit
"If Crimea and Donetsk are legitimate, we should say that Ukraine ones are too"
I expect something like this.
I love that nickname, Chocolate king. It really fits.
He's going to be just as bad as the last.

I doubt it. While I don't know a whole lot about him, he can hardly be any worse than Yanukovich. This guy took to the streets during the protests and attempted to calm people down. Even if he didn't succeed, it's still a noble goal.
I fully he believe he has good intentions. I just hope that I'm not proven wrong.
Putin said he will recognize it as legit
That's only worrying if anything. Let's hope Putin doesn't have him in his pocket like he had his predecessor.
Him being a business man doesn't help that thought either.
Mmm, chocolate.

Eh. Some businessmen have run businesses larger than some countries.
Eh. Some businessmen have run businesses larger than some countries.
Yeah, but it's context sensitive. I mean, it's someone in charge of Ukraine with someone in charge of Russia.

Maybe its just me, but I feel like she would had been the better candidate. After all, she did have a political background.
But why was did she get so little votes? I thought she would be more popular than ever after being freed.

She isn't a victim, she was arrested for being corrupt, and she was corrupt. She did get abused in prison, which started all that shitstorm about her.
And when she got released she started talking all this mindless violent bullshit that only made people mad. If she became the president, this whole situation would've gotten muuuuch worse.

We'll see, but at least he probably keeps all sides cool which is the most important task now.
