[I]Sincere apologies if late.[/I]
The trailer has a very SCP-ish feel to it.
Me likey.
That was awesome. Makes me wonder if anything like this has ever happened in real life.
(Government alien coverup thingies, I mean.)
It looks awesome. They've absolutely nailed the aesthetics.
Still not a big fan the third person view.
So where's that gameplay in this "gameplay trailer"? I saw a lot of scripted/directed scenes, but only the brief moment where one guy zoom in on an alien head from behind cover seemed like an actual bit of gameplay - and even that moment seemed pretty edited.
That radio signal sounds eerie as shit.
I hope you will be able to switch between first and third.
Like that will ever happen D:

Every gameplay trailer is made like this - almost without actual gameplay.
I miss the first person view as well.
I feel like the gameplay will be like brothers in arms. Which was awesome so this looks promising.
I'm not surprised about the release date. The game was concepted and rumors came about of a 2K developed XCOM game back in '06/'07. We saw a version of this game at E3 2010. Then some screens later on.
I'm saying this game is using assets being developed over the course of this game's development history, and that explains why it's releasing so soon.

Hopefully its not full of shooting and has some detective shit in it, Like having to interrogate aliens somehow.
Reminds me greatly of "Destroy All Humans."

I'm only surprised that this is still alive and kicking. I thought it was stuck in dev limbo since there was no media release since the E3 teaser.
There's like 20 minutes gameplay footage up somewhere.
Found it, some parts are cut out

Glad they switched to enemy unknown's type of enemies. battling giant black alien sludge sounds laaaame.

The game was going to start with Sludge and work its way towards more advanced enemies. The black goo was more like a lesser enemy that made its way to Earth.
animations look good
Looks too much like bioshock infinite in that gameplay.
Here's some gameplay.

Something I don't like about the IGN comments on the article made about The Bureau is that they are treating it like its an XCOM game, but it's a spin-off. It's like people don't know what a spin-off game is.
[editline]13th May 2013[/editline]
Also, this game isn't going to have R&D like in the original XCOM games. So, hopefully you weren't expecting that from [B]spin-off.[/B]
I'm actually really liking the way it looks. I still would've liked the first person version but this looks equally as good.
the some enemies in this game looks like, identical to the ones in XCOM Enemy Unknown
either way i kinda like that they went more tactical and third person, big hopes for this
I like me some new xcom.
The squad mechanics look interesting, but the gun play looked really mediocre.

Because they ARE? They're Sectoids. Why would they look different? Not to mention the Outsiders look VERY different than their EU models, but they also seem to be serving a totally different purpose in this game.

I'm hoping for the aliens that were shown in the 2010 trailer, at least at the start.

But those are in the game as well.

From what I heard in that one video is that the abstract aliens in 2010 didn't fit the change to a tactical shooter, and the enemies will be reworked to fit that.
To be honest, I am not as excited as I was when I saw the 2010 trailer. I still am going to buy it.
[SUP][SUP]I never got into X-COM, and was excited for a first person shooter that wasn't like Call of Duty.[/SUP][/SUP]
Funny thing is, my grandpa did a bit of writing for a pen and paper game, and I believe it was one of the Bureau 13 games, which is about a secret US paranormal agency.
"The fact that 2K Marin is making this should be a huge sign not to buy it.*"
I guess they're a bad dev team because 2K made them develop a Bioshock sequel which scored in the high 80s on metacritic! Sure it was an unnecessary sequel but boo hoo it doesn't mean the game was bad. Or is there some other reason that internet nerds don't like them?
Is it just me or did they say in that IGN video that they had to be "greenlit" before they could add in permadeath? I wonder how much EU improved the game.
