Poor bastards.
Honestly, we know EA doesn't REALLY need to cut costs, they just like fucking their employees over.
Are they trying to pull a Valve off? By that I mean, they don't have 1500 employees, theres just a handful of people who are dedicated to giving us epic stuff.

Probably doesn't help with them paying millions to advertise L4D2.
Their not rich enough already? I hope it ends up biting them in the ass.
I feel sorry for the employees, but it also feels like a step forward to less shitty milking from series and more decent games.
that's a lot of people to be put redundant at these times when it's hard to get a job in any given proffesion
There surely are downsides to firing 1,500 people but I can guarantee a decent studio will be created because of this and they'll be much more successful than they were stuck at the EA offices.

unlucky for those peeps :( Hope they find a new job they enjoy
I think this is for the better of the company and the result of all of the promising games they've screwed up.

good now we get shorter credits
This is good because now someone will actually create a development studio with these employees and create something great, something that would never come out of a company such as EA because they're too goddamn thick to realize when an actual GOOD idea is being presented to them.
Why do I get the feeling EA does this every year?
Maybe they should just remove all of their employees, see what happends...
The employees should start their own game company. Since they were already working for EA. They should be like that company which made that star wars rts game.
I have a feeling EA would end up buying out the company in 5 years, I'm not sure if it's worth it.
