Hello I'm a muslim.
I wrote this big ass post about how lionhatkid (Creator of ; I'm starting to dislike muslims, can you blame me?) is wrong about everything and is generally brainwashed, but the thread got closed before I got a chance to defend my religion which is the most critized and missunderstood. I'm not 100% religious, meaning I don't pray 5 times a day, but I do fast and stuff like that.
Let me clear out some missbelieved facts about muslims
1. Muslim extremists are not actually muslims, I know what a paradox but the fact of the matter is that these people immediately leave the religion when they harm another person, it is haram and therefore against our religion to harm other humans or even animals.
2. A muslim man is required to make his own bread, and his wife's and his childrens, living off welfare is not the ideal way to live for anyone, and you can't generally say that all muslims live off welfare when there are a few doing it, I myself plan to become an engineer when I grow up (See the difference).
3. Muslim men hit their wives, this is so wrong that it makes me sad that people even would think these things about us, the man who hits his wife is not a muslim period.
4. Muslims kill people who talk about their prophet. True there are some people that do this, but I personally think its wrong, afterall there is something called the freedom of speech and it should be used that is why it is there, but there are som hot heads that wanna go on a crusade as soon as you speak about Muhammad thats just how it is, you can't say at all that there isn't people like this in all other religions, besides if you speak bad about Muhammad, I require that you also speak bad about Moses and Jesus, they're also our prophets, and are as much of prophets as muhammad is, its only that muhammad was the last one.
Now sorry for the wall of text, and I'm sorry if I annoy you with this thread, even annoyed myself. Not so much of a speaking person really on forums, I'm more of a lurker. But this is basic information you need to know about muslims, and I truly truly hope that this reaches out to someone.

This is widely believed, but the thing is, in the Qur'an it clearly states (ask any muslim) that even though christians and jews are from another religion, you should treat them as if they were muslims, and if you wish you may enter the religious headquarters of your friends religion which isn't islam, in education purposes and as company. (Synagogues, Churches, Insert other religion temple here)

If that is the case, then the wall of text did accomplish something. You know thing is some douchebags that hate islam spread bad rumours about us, saying things like its legal in the religion to hit women and stuff like that :(

A fine question indeed. But the fact of the matter is, you cannot at all point out some parts of the qur'an unless you read it fully in fozha, which is its original language, a book translated is not identical to the original. And also when you learn to read arabic and point out the surat, you must also know that the qur'an does not provide straight information but in form of hadiths (stories of happenings to the prophets, angels, people ETC.) Maybe you caught a part of a hadith where a man is suggesting this to the prophet which a man did but the prophet rejected this.

Thanks for clarifying. I'm not fluent in Arabic or Fozha, obviously :). And that was just information from another source anyway, so it's irrelevant.

The problem is it's always the good people are in the background and the bad few standing out.
What Muslims do wrong is ignoring/accepting extremist movements and thoughts even though they know it is against their religion and it is morally wrong.
The same thing happened to Christianity in the past.

Alright I see that some people now know the basic information, I'm not trying to convert you or anything, but it just hurts me that people like, Abu Musab Al Zarqawi and Bin Laden, can ruin the view of muslims all over the world
The terrorists you can count up, they're not so many. But should a few hundred extremists hurt the view of this many muslims ; 1.200 billion, CAIR (Council on American-Islamic relations)
And that is a 10 year old statistic we may be more now.

Fanatism is a common thing to all religions. For instance, catholics and christians have got the Opus Dei, the Christ's Legionnaires, the Schoenstatt and a whole lot of other equally absurd and fanatic organizations, more than willing to coerce, blackmail or brainwash their members for achieving their goals.

Yeah, and are blind to anything else but islam, and don't forget The Family, the most twisted subreligion of christianity, even though we like christians and christianity, that is one wrong religion. They've morphed every belief in christianity to make a subreligion.

I like people, I really like all people. I find religion to be just a tool though and it's masters wield it to perform as they see fit. It separates us, separates mankind from one another. What if you and I and everyone else knew that this was it, we were it, there was no god and no afterlife either. This is it, this is all we will ever have. Make the best of it, embrace each other for this is all you will ever see or know. I am a heathen by all religions and I will not receive the blessing of your god or any other. I'm OK with that though, I will live my life to the best of my abilities and die with dignity when that time comes.

Yeah, well Catholicism is "Ok" with gays. But they just hate gays who have sex. Because the bible doesn't say it's a sin to be gay, but it is a sin to have gay sex.
So you can go to the carnival, you just can't ride the rides.
So while Islam could be "Ok" with it, they could also have some other dumb anti-gay reason like Catholics.
