I always feel bad for pugs. I've yet to meet one that doesn't have serious sinus and breathing problems, and usually horrible spinal issues as well. Breeding for mere vanity is a horrible thing, in my opinion.

That's what happens with brachycephalic dogs. The fact they don't really have much of that supporting nose bone; along with the tissue in the back of the throat and the nose kind of obstructing air flow causes respiratory problems.
A great opportunity was missed.

i'd rather have a genetically inferior dog if it meant that i laugh every time it runs
My gf has one of these, they rescued it because it would've been killed otherwise.
Its scary sleeping with one. Sometimes they just stop snoring and sound like they are choking. then you have to kick him a bit so he wakes up and doesnt fucking choke.
He's adorable, but breeding these dogs should be illegal.

I've got a Jack Russel/Corgi crossbreed, and he also bounces around instead of running.

It blows my mind that pugs are a thing... they can't even fuck each other or breath properly cause they're so geneticly messed up. We breed them purely to use as cute ornaments.
They should ban the curlytailed ones and breed them to have longer nose

Ey, my pugs don't choke in their sleep, they just snore like a motor boat.
Bath time is the best after washing them in the tub and having them run around the house is great.
Isn't there a way to breed Pugs that aren't completely fucked up?

There was a documentary posted in the video section quite some time ago regarding the kennel club, and animal abuse via selective breeding.
