Hill, 32, was ridiculed during an appearance on France's Le Grand Journal to promote his latest film, War Dogs, when host Ornella Fleury described her perfect sexual fantasy – which pointedly exluded the actor. Fleury said: "It's when I saw you get sodomised by a 3-meter tall demon in This Is The End that I told myself THAT is the man of my dreams.” An unimpressed Hill replied: "And you? I hear you get sodomised pretty often." Fleury continued: "My sexual fantasy would be that we would meet up in a hotel room at night. We would chat, you'd make me laugh, you'd make me laugh a lot. "And then all of a sudden you'd bring your friends Leo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt… and then you would leave." Clearly irritated by the remark, Hill replied: "I'm glad I came on here to be mocked by a local weather girl." Hill went on to cancel the rest of his interviews, according to French news outlet BFMTV.
[Source] Oh come on, Jonah... that wasn't so bad.
please, it's channing tatum, not everyone is into old dudes. I would cancel my tour as well if my husbaino wasn't being cucked in my place.

I'm starting to think that the stereotype of Americans not handling self-deprecating humor/banter is true. I thought Jonah had thick skin and would be no stranger to that sort of thing... geez. [editline]15th September 2016[/editline] Her (by no means forced by the producers) apology:
it probably gets pretty tiring when the only deprecating joke people make about him is "haha you're fat and ugly"
I'm starting to think that the stereotype of Americans not handling self-deprecating humor/banter is true.
if they dont come from the military or the south its p much true.
Not saying it's not real, but where does the stereotype come from? I don't think I've ever heard of it.

It's not typically the routine to invite guests on your show to make fun of them, without them being in on the joke of course. (or if you're eric andre)
I thought it was really funny, and I see that kind of banter always happening on American talkshows. I'm surprised he was that offended by it.
French """"""comedy"""""""
I thought it was really funny, and I see that kind of banter always happening on American talkshows.
I think the stereotype is actually that americans don't get irony, which leads to situations like this.
I thought it was Japanese people who didn't get irony
I think the stereotype is actually that americans don't get irony, which leads to situations like this.
she wasn't being ironic though? also americans are pretty ironic all the time
she wasn't being ironic though? also americans are pretty ironic all the time
I know frogs get a bad rap for being rude, but do you honestly think she was being genuinely mean spirited towards him?
I know frogs get a bad rap for being rude, but do you honestly think she was being genuinely mean spirited towards him?
I think she was trying to be funny at his expense... but fell flat
I think the stereotype is actually that americans don't get irony, which leads to situations like this.
Theres some weird meta-irony in you claiming Americans don't understand irony, while making it known that you don't really understand irony yourself :v: There was no irony in that skit, it was just a foreign language TV show making fun of an uncomfortable and super nice guest. Thought Jonah's response was funny at least, it's like, enjoy your 5 minutes of fame while I go back to America and continue being a millionaire star.
I know frogs get a bad rap for being rude, but do you honestly think she was being genuinely mean spirited towards him?
yeah. i don't think she grasped how rude it was though, somehow. it wasn't really a joke. it was more of an underhanded comment on how he's not fuckable? i don't know how else you're meant to take that. the whole 'joke' was deliberate false flattery to set up a burn, to the dudes face while he's a guest promoting a film. imagine travelling to france to promote something and a host declares how unfuckable you are on live tv, and it's not in the context or a roast and was unexpected. especially after that one dudes comment being like "you get fucked in the ass a lot don't you?". what is that supposed to mean? it seems like a mean spirited homophobic joke to me. it's poor taste and i'd take that badly if i was jonah too. it seems like a really bad show
that was a very eh joke. Roasting jokes have to be just as funny as offensive or it's just plain offensive.
That sounded like something a girl would say to an annoying guy who keeps hitting on her to shame him and make him stop. That's completely uncalled for unless he was being a huge asshole or something. If I were the translator I would have feigned technical difficulties.
Jonah Hill FUNNY fucked in ass prank (PRANKS GONE WRONG)
i think you guys are overlooking the effect of being on a national tv show where you don't speak the language that everyone is speaking. until the translator tells you what they are saying, you don't really know exactly why everyone is laughing at you. dunno about you guys but i'd feel like a fucking idiot.
Wrong thread. snip.
I'm just trying to imagine how much outcry there would be if that was a fat ugly actress instead of jonah hill. There would be no question on whether this was offensive or not.
Holy shit, you're all babies. I get and give worse banter than this all day at work. You just need to have a laugh about it.
Holy shit, you're all babies. I get and give worse banter than this all day at work. You just need to have a laugh about it.
i guess wouldn't want to hang around the people you hang around with, or you for that matter if you're just calling people worse things than fat and unattractive and a shit lay out of nowhere. it only works if you're like, good friends and it's expected. these two probably met each other like 30 minutes before this happened. especially if you traveled internationally for probably several hours to meet that person.
I know Jonah Hill has been trying to promote himself as a better actor than "that fat loser" in movies. His role in the new movie War Dogs was a more serious role, definitely not in the realm of This is the End, so I can see why he was caught off guard in this 'roast'. Like imagine if he was promoting Moneyball, a movie he really tried to be serious for, only to be like "oh haha ur that fat guy with those dumbass comedians, and superbad, haha you were a real loser in those". I just don't see why the roast. It would make a little more sense to roast when he did come out with a movie like This is the End, it plays off the context hes promoting.
Holy shit, you're all babies. I get and give worse banter than this all day at work. You just need to have a laugh about it.
ribbing with friends and 'banter' isn't the same as a stranger saying something really shitty to you on tv for no reason

Oh no it was that I thought you were a friend and that I could bounce these insults off you, it totally wasn't that the joke was unfunny or anything. Like, what was the point of the dick up the ass joke? Ok sure Hill did that in a movie, ok, and that's a stark difference from the movies where he got oscar nominated, ok fair. But for the joke to work the other party has to know its coming so they can give the witty response, aka the punchline. Otherwise it goes like that: "oh your a fat loser, lol" "haha ok?" "and you took a big dick up the ass" "and?" "haha thats funny!" "what?"
